  1. I think Davis is a take, but our DB room is stacked with talent. I'm not sure Johnson is an upgrade over anything we have, except playing time?
  2. This is crazy, CJ. What kind of offense are they going to run in their bowl game? Lol.
  3. Miss.State QB, Michael Van Buren is in the portal. Might have to do with Jackson Arnold trending towards them?
  4. I saw one where he was projecting toward Auburn.
  5. That dude is a stud, I know we're stacked at DB, but my God. Only a So, too.
  6. I thought we needed 4, too. But if you think about it, you've got 3 already there that could be rotational pieces in January, Mitchell and Mills. Say you add two studs from portal (hypothetically) and then you add a Fr into the rotation (maybe)? I could see 3 at most, think 4 is too much. I'd say go after two top tier guys (if any enter, the guy from Kentucky seems like the only option at the moment) and then try to add another rotational type of guy, like Oatis (might be too big at 390) or the guy from North Carolina. Been looking through the portal so far and there really isn't any guys except maybe 3 or 4 that we would kick the tires on and imo, only one of them is top tier.
  7. I know we don't necessarily need RB, but man Ahmad Hardy would be an amazing RB to pick up. Just a Fr but he was a beat at ULM. Not sure you could convince him to be sharing reps with at least two other RB's. Projections seem to have him split between Ole Miss and Auburn.
  8. Oh absolutely. Their LB's are ridiculous. I'm not sure anyone we play has their level of play in the front 7. That would include Oregon or Ohio State. Though Tennessee definitely has some dudes in their front 7. One thing I'll note on those pass plays he missed, is he had enough time to find the right read. Looked like he got very jittery, though with how much pressure Georgia was getting, can't say I really blame him either, lol.
  9. He played great between the 20's but man, when he got into crucial throws, he must've missed at least 3 or 4 TD throws on that short clip. I know the receiving room had some drops but in those crucial plays you always talk about, where he needs to make a play or be clutch, he seems to come up short. Not sure what he was seeing on that dropped INT either. WR was double covered.
  10. Only downside to that, is it adds more competition for DL in the portal, lol. I'd say we need to supplement that position heavily for the next couple of years with portal prospects while Baker continues to cook in HS recruiting and stack that room up.
  11. It'll be fun playing them next year (getting back on topic). 100% they'll be another tough out. We'll likely have 5 new starters on the OL. Hard to figure out who goes where. LT - Goosby, LG N.Umeozulu, C - Cruz/Hutson, RG - Kibble/Chatman, RT - Baker/Agbo Not sure how that plays out, but what I do know, is we need some road graders inside and right now the combination of Connor, Majors and Campbell doesn't seem to be getting it done. Got other guys there like Stroh, Cojoe that could all put their hand up for a spot. Be interesting to see in the spring. Skill position wise, I'm not worried. Think we've got a bunch of dudes at TE, WR and RB. Arch at QB. More so having to play them in their place (again?) will be tougher. Team next year has a lot of upside and potential, will be interested to see how they supplement that in the portal. Though now I'm looking at the roster this year after some guys have left and I'm even more confused why Gullette decided to leave? We are very thing at LB once the season ends. there will only be 3 scholarship LB's on the roster with Hill, Lefau and Smith. Might have to rethink my stance on only taking one LB here. Anyway, just talking out my ass now, lol.
  12. Kinda surprised, but not that surprised? He had a good year, at a not very good Duke school. Top teams will be looking at him. Don't be surprised to see some SEC teams looking at him.
  13. College game isn't what it once was. He wouldn't do as well these days, as he did in years past, imo. It's why Saban bowed out when he did.
  14. Honestly don't think Day is a bad HC, but he hasn't done a great job building Ohio State since Meyer left. He's kind of just keeping it steady (kind of). I'm sure Hartline would be next in line if Day walked away, he would be a great replacement, imo.
  15. He had 360 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT's. A bunch of missed TD plays, too. Not all on him, obviously, but still. I also know you're not trying to blame the D for this loss when they held Georgia to under 300 yards and 16 points, LOL.
  16. Certainly his misses hurt, but when you dominate the 1st half with almost as many yards as they had total in the entire game and you only have 6 points to show for it, that is a problem. We can blame Auburn all we want, but we should've had TD's and not settled for FG's. If we had been up 21-3 or more in that 1st half, you would've forced Georgia to throw more with their back up, which would've played right into our hands. Instead they played how they wanted to and basically wore Texas down. Strong defense with a good running game to boot. Also, you kind've derailed Gerry's thread here, but I guess we all ended up doing that, didn't we? Lol.
  17. Dillon Thieneman would be my only take so far on that list. Imo, we only need one WR, because we have Moore and Wingo returning, plus there is other talent there that has had a year to marinate (Duboise, Butler, Livingstone, Niblett, etc). I could see them going two, if they feel there's need for it. But if Golden decides to return, I could see them still taking one. If he doesn't, possibly two. We'll see what happens when the mad rush happens, lol.
  18. I think Bond will be the guy. But I think Sark is going to have his pick of WR talent this year, it's going to be insane. Plus don't forget you'll have Blue and Baxter out of the backfield, who are both + receivers there. Plus having Niblack, Bond, Bolden, Golden or Cook out there, with Blue at RB would be a nightmare to defend. So much speed to contend with.
  19. Feels like both sides of the line are very strong in state with the '25 class.
  20. God I hope that game isn't a Madden clone. There is so much stuff that has happened in the college world between the last game and this game coming. Having to navigate the transfer portal, NIL, teams trying to poach your talent, etc. I also hope recruiting is much harder, felt like it was so easy to just grab so many top players as a low tier program. Made rebuilds kind of a joke. Anyway, I'll 2nd that idea.
  21. I didn't know he had a son, how old is he?
  22. As most have stated, he'll probably stay 2 years at Texas. He'll likely see some action this year as the back-up, as I believe we'll blow some teams out and actually finish teams off this year. But, my opinion is 2 years. I think Eli Manning did similar? He sat for a year or so and then started 2 years, then went to the NFL.
  23. I'm quite impressed with how far Christian Jones came from where he was when Flood came in. Hell, I'm impressed with how much our OL room has improved in the 3 years under Flood. Recruiting some behemoths and studs at that position. We finally have a great OL heading into next year, with some quality depth. Heard there was some rumours that BC could be looking to take him, but I couldn't even blame him if he did. It would hurt us, but he's been great for us OL wise.
