  1. We'll see, I'm not sure what he is, a JR or what? Either way, Kenny Baker is a damn wizard. I feel like an idiot worrying about that hire when it first came to light. Sark needs to find someone to do the same at OL lol (sorry i couldn't help myself).
  2. It's part of the whole NIL/transfer portal. Not a fan of how it's set up, but I'm fine with NIL and all that but the free for all it's become is just stupid.
  3. I'm not paying Lagway anything, imo. Dude's not that good of a QB. He just threw 5 picks and has been pretty average to start the year. Miami would be crazy to throw money at him.
  4. I'm not so much worried about our D holding up against their O, as I am about our O sh*tting the bed in that game and moving forward.
  5. I'll wait until Oklahoma plays a team with a pulse before I give them their flowers. They've played Illinois State, a crap Michigan team and Temple.
  6. I'm honestly surprised by how good their OL is, I really underestimated Miami this year.
  7. I didn't really see the OL dominate the LOS in those games, but we ran so much against Texas A&M because Ewers wasn't able to do much in the passing game, if my memory serves me correctly. I also understand this is a relatively new OL but Hutson has started over the previous 3 years, so has Campbell. Stroh is in his 3rd year, so is Goosby. Baker is in his 2nd, so I can excuse him a bit more than the others. Even Neto is in his 4th year like Hutson and Campbell. I'm holding my judgement till the end of the season. Right now I'm just noticing patterns continue to emerge, that's all.
  8. Fair enough, but with the way Coach Flood has recruited/developed the position over his tenure, some questions do need to be asked. I don't think that's out of the realm of possibility, imo. We can point to NFL draft picks but can you tell me our OL's have been dominant? To another posters point that our OL's are better than Herman and Strong's, that is a given. But that is a low bar to set. Also, my bad for coming off a bit d*ckish, I'm just frustrated is all, like I think we all are.
  9. Sorry, I'm not putting Lacey out there, as a true Fr. If Caldwell is good enough to be a game manager and get the ball to WR's and make the easy throws, that is good enough for the season. That is honestly all you need so far, Arch has struggled to just hit guys wide open and yes our WR's are getting open. That 4th& 3 he threw the INT on, he had Livingstone open for the 1st down conversion, was looking right at him and reversed and went back to the other side of the field....for no reason. Endries open on a little TE quick hitch, that you're supposed to get out quick, he see's it, hesitates and it nullifies the ability for the TE to get up field and make any plays. So many passes, not just in this game, that he is just not putting in a spot for a guy to make a play. Look at his last pass to Clark, that is a gimme play...missed it. I honestly don't know what his problem is, but if he's struggling this much against sub-par competition, the teams ahead on our schedule are going to eat him alive.
  10. Why is this the typical response from people? We can't criticize Floods OL, so list your top 3 OL coaches? You're allowed to call out poor play by the OL and the coach that is supposed to be "the best in the business" when you can't even get a push against less competition. When they're missing basic assignments, still making mental errors/mistakes, etc. This isn't a trend just this year. Should he be fired? Probably not. But he definitely deserves criticism for the way his OL's play.
  11. No one forgot how bad those were. Doesn't mean that the last 5 years haven't also been bad. A step up, for certain, but still bad. When was the last time we had our OL just maul people at the LOS and move the pule consistently? When you're struggling to do so against SJSU and UTEP, that is a bad sign. Because the guys you're going to face in the SEC week to week, have much better front 7's than UTEP and SJSU. Even last year they didn't look all that impressive.
  12. Not sure what he's doing, but the guy he passes off is who Baker is supposed to block. The guy Baker breaks off to block, is who Stroh is pulling to block. Mental mistakes.
  13. How does that even happen?
  14. He didn't look like he was running, as much as he was shuffling out there. Then Baker, well I don't know what he was doing.
  15. If you think that is what this is, you're not paying attention. Calling people fairweather fans for being critical of something that has been a consistent problem, lol. Come on man.
  16. I'm watching some of his throws against UTEP and comparing them to these in the video, that are the exact same. It's like night and day. Here makes the throws, against UTEP he misses them (and against OSU and SJSU). It truly is baffling.
  17. He could have this personnel and with the mistakes he's made this year, that would not make a difference.
  18. Goosby is our best OL, but I just went back and looked at that play of his where he tried to chop block a guy one on one and Arch got blasted because of it. What in God's name was he even trying to do there? Get up on your man and do something, don't just try to chop block him...that had the to be the single dumbest thing I've seen an OL do and he's our best guy on the OL....
  19. Thanks for posting this and cutting it up (if that was you). I see some poor throws here, but overall if we had this guy throwing the ball this year, we beat Ohio State and we blow SJSU and UTEP out by 60 each. This year, he can't even make some of those simple throws he does easy here. Also, unless I'm blind I didn't see any side arm throws.
  20. Guys getting injured a lot in HS make me worry. Tends to lean towards a career littered with injuries. Ewers, Baxter, etc. Anyway, wish him all the best in his recovery.
  21. Is this not on Coach Choice and Coach Sark for lacking of elite recruiting at RB? Poor evaluations/development? I mean, don't get me wrong Wisner is good but he isn't elite. We have no speed at RB, no elite game changer there. That is a problem and it should not be. Plus the run blocking is okay but leaves a lot to be desired. For several years we've had a lack of push up front. Too much finesse/thinking and not enough beat your ass and get you to the dirt, so to speak. When was the last time we really saw an OL at Texas maul somebody up front? '23 Bama game, maybe?
  22. To be fair, even when they do protect him, he still can't hit wide open guys.
  23. Also, I get what people are saying about the OL getting guys into the NFL but the product on the field wasn't good last year and it isn't this year either. The lack of push in the run game has been evident for a while, even when Bijan was here. Dude was dodging guys in the backfield to pick up yards. When you can't even get a push up front against UTEP or SJSU, that is a problem. I understand people might see this as "crying" or whatever, but the product on the field doesn't lie. Penalties have been an issue for years, no change there. Mental mistakes on the Ol, no change there. Yes some of this is on the players but at some point you gotta point to the coaches. Criticism is allowed guys, whether you think it's warranted or not. It seems like this offense is completely disjointed.
  24. As much as I might agree with you, a lot of the fan base doesn't take well to criticism of Flood. That and Sark has blind faith in Flood, he's been with him at 3 different stops now, I believe. Atlanta, Bama and now Texas. While he says the right things and came in sound great, I've been less than impressed with his product on the field for the past 5 years. For some reason our big humans can't get in and push teams around on the LOS, even lowly UTEP and SJSU.
