  1. He might be even less mobile than Ewers and that is saying something, lol.
  2. That would be a decent spot to land. You've got Stafford at 36, Garoppolo at 33 and Benson at 27. Could easily see him getting to sit a few years and learn from a guy like Stafford.
  3. I was actually wondering about that, because I've been keeping an eye on the portal and his name never popped up. Only that he had intentions to do so. I guess they managed to talk him around, which says a lot about how they feel about his upside and perhaps what Coach Baker can work with him.
  4. I don't disagree, but I think we've got some dudes there who could contribute. But, when you're right, you're right.
  5. Sure, but at some point you need to trust the guys you've recruited. There is so much talent there. I understand wanting the experience, but I'd be fine rolling with the dudes we've got. Otherwise what is the point of recruiting these guys?
  6. Hey, maybe you're right. But he's almost in his 70's. Not sure I would bother getting back into coaching at that point. But then again, what the hell do I know? Bill has probably forgot more about the game of football, then I'll ever know, lol. Wish him all the best, just my opinion that it's not a good hire for them. Happy to eat crow on that though.
  7. Coach Sanders actually has personality. Coach Belichick has the personality of a wet blanket, actually that's pretty offensive to the wet blanket. He has nothing that would appeal to recruits. Most of them weren't even born or would remember Brady's great run, unless they looked it up on Youtube, lol.
  8. Jokes aside, I'm surprised they didn't kick the tires on Barry Odom. Helped bring UNLV to some recent success that they haven't had before and would've been a great fit for them. Hiring Bellichek just seems weird. Guy was such a grouch he wouldn't even let Madden use his name in the NFL games, lol. Was very unlikeable at the NFL level and didn't do much after his run with Brady. Never been in college either, from my understanding. If I'm a UNC donor or fan, I'd be pissed off right about now.
  9. Was going to post this, not sure that's a great deal for Houston, but who knows maybe with some different leadership he'll fix himself up.....bruh...okay, that just feels weird to even type out, lol. Castellano going to Florida State was weird, considering what a dumpster fire it is.
  10. I think the staff knows this, the problem is there are no big time DL in the portal. You could kick the tires on Silver from Kentucky but who else is there? Plus when you narrow it down, Texas is looking for bigger bodies, which instantly narrows that group down drastically. I think Gerry or CJ talked about this, but you want two high productive guys, etc. Then add 1 or 2 rotational type players. Don't forget the staff isn't quick to jump on anyone, last year it was a week after the portal opened before they even signed anyone.
  11. He's banged up, needs to get healthy.
  12. I think Davis is a take, but our DB room is stacked with talent. I'm not sure Johnson is an upgrade over anything we have, except playing time?
  13. This is crazy, CJ. What kind of offense are they going to run in their bowl game? Lol.
  14. Miss.State QB, Michael Van Buren is in the portal. Might have to do with Jackson Arnold trending towards them?
  15. I saw one where he was projecting toward Auburn.
  16. That dude is a stud, I know we're stacked at DB, but my God. Only a So, too.
  17. I thought we needed 4, too. But if you think about it, you've got 3 already there that could be rotational pieces in January, Mitchell and Mills. Say you add two studs from portal (hypothetically) and then you add a Fr into the rotation (maybe)? I could see 3 at most, think 4 is too much. I'd say go after two top tier guys (if any enter, the guy from Kentucky seems like the only option at the moment) and then try to add another rotational type of guy, like Oatis (might be too big at 390) or the guy from North Carolina. Been looking through the portal so far and there really isn't any guys except maybe 3 or 4 that we would kick the tires on and imo, only one of them is top tier.
  18. I know we don't necessarily need RB, but man Ahmad Hardy would be an amazing RB to pick up. Just a Fr but he was a beat at ULM. Not sure you could convince him to be sharing reps with at least two other RB's. Projections seem to have him split between Ole Miss and Auburn.
  19. Oh absolutely. Their LB's are ridiculous. I'm not sure anyone we play has their level of play in the front 7. That would include Oregon or Ohio State. Though Tennessee definitely has some dudes in their front 7. One thing I'll note on those pass plays he missed, is he had enough time to find the right read. Looked like he got very jittery, though with how much pressure Georgia was getting, can't say I really blame him either, lol.
  20. He played great between the 20's but man, when he got into crucial throws, he must've missed at least 3 or 4 TD throws on that short clip. I know the receiving room had some drops but in those crucial plays you always talk about, where he needs to make a play or be clutch, he seems to come up short. Not sure what he was seeing on that dropped INT either. WR was double covered.
  21. Only downside to that, is it adds more competition for DL in the portal, lol. I'd say we need to supplement that position heavily for the next couple of years with portal prospects while Baker continues to cook in HS recruiting and stack that room up.
  22. It'll be fun playing them next year (getting back on topic). 100% they'll be another tough out. We'll likely have 5 new starters on the OL. Hard to figure out who goes where. LT - Goosby, LG N.Umeozulu, C - Cruz/Hutson, RG - Kibble/Chatman, RT - Baker/Agbo Not sure how that plays out, but what I do know, is we need some road graders inside and right now the combination of Connor, Majors and Campbell doesn't seem to be getting it done. Got other guys there like Stroh, Cojoe that could all put their hand up for a spot. Be interesting to see in the spring. Skill position wise, I'm not worried. Think we've got a bunch of dudes at TE, WR and RB. Arch at QB. More so having to play them in their place (again?) will be tougher. Team next year has a lot of upside and potential, will be interested to see how they supplement that in the portal. Though now I'm looking at the roster this year after some guys have left and I'm even more confused why Gullette decided to leave? We are very thing at LB once the season ends. there will only be 3 scholarship LB's on the roster with Hill, Lefau and Smith. Might have to rethink my stance on only taking one LB here. Anyway, just talking out my ass now, lol.
  23. Kinda surprised, but not that surprised? He had a good year, at a not very good Duke school. Top teams will be looking at him. Don't be surprised to see some SEC teams looking at him.
