  1. I'm thinking about what this offense could be capable of next year. Only spot you really need to replace guys is on the OL. QB, WR and TE should all be extremely set. RB could be a ? if you can find a difference maker. OL there is some talent there with Cruz, Kibble and Brooks going to be fighting for snaps and Cojoe when he comes back. If he really has turned a corner (Arch) then I think this team is going to be very hard to stop. We'll see though.
  2. It's kinda like Clemson with Swinney. Gerry keeps mentioning that they were not very good since the 80's before he came around and likfted them back up. You gotta be careful what you wish for and Oklahoma State will not have the same success as they have enjoyed under Gundy. Don't know that Gundy would care much for Austin or Texas but you couldn't go wrong having a voice like that around to help out.
  3. I mean even when they beat us with Gabriel, they had a lot of luck go their way. We also have several chances to win that game and couldn't get it done. Even if it was with Mateer, he wouldn't be able to hero ball his way out of a Texas ass whooping.
  4. Well, that's no bueno. Because the rest of their offense is hot garbage lol.
  5. He's going to be on some short lists if jobs open up.
  6. Yet you came in here to talk trash yourself on people sharing their opinions on a forum for Texas fans. Maybe people telling others that they aren't allowed to share their opinions on a forum, should stop?
  7. They sure are talking a lot for Mateer literally carrying their O. Even still, he didn't have many rushing yards vs Auburn. Their schedule is only going to get tougher after they play the mighty Kent State. I know everyone is worried about OU, but I'm personally not. Think they're extremely overrated and am happy they're coming ranked above us and undefeated. Best time to put them to the sword.
  8. Yet we're not talking about Ohio State, are we? We're talking about teams that defensively, aren't very good. Why would I watch anyone else as intently or with fervor? I only care about Texas. The fact is, when watching them, you can see the problems. It's that simple.
  9. I don't know what the solution is. I watched the game again and there is flashes of the OL doing well but then I just see so many poor moments. This is against one of the worst FBS defenses around at the moment. How that isn't a concern for people, is worrying to me. I know we put up 600 yards and 55 points but the OL is still a weak point. I'm not sure there is a quick fix for it, this seems to be our best 5 including or excluding Hutson. This is going to be a concern moving forward into the SEC. OU has a pretty good DL, not sure but I think Florida is pretty good on the DL, too. We'll see how we hold up there.
  10. Yes how dare anyone have a differing opinion...
  11. The reason he went into the portal is to have some experience at back up. Owens has next to no playing time and Lacey is a Fr.
  12. Oh man, I forgot our boy Charlies Wright, who fits into the first mold, too.
  13. Could be that he got passed up, could be that he doesn't fit the mold of what Sark wants at QB anymore. I mean look at the QB's since he first arrived that he recruited vs the ones he's recruited now. Quinn Ewers from the portal, Maalik Murphy, Trey Owens. What do these guys all have in common? More pocket passing guys, not very mobile/athletic. Since then he's recruited Arch Manning, KJ Lacey and now Dia Bell. Who is the '27 target? Kavian Bryant. What do these guys all have? Mobility, athleticism, etc. Yet can still hit all the throws that Sark wants. Just my take on it anyway. Don't think it's anything specific that Trey has done or didn't do, just think it's Sark going a different direction with what he wants out of his QB's and adapting his Offense to that.
  14. He was celebrating with Manning after one of his TD's on the sideline.
  15. The problem is, they way they play has nothing to do with inexperience. At least, imo. Also, you're forgetting that Hutson has played since he was a Fr. He has a ton of snaps. Hayden Connor is not a great example, he still wasn't that great by the time he left. Jones I can give you, who stayed for a couple of years. I'm also not expecting them to play like veterans. But I do expect them to play much better than they have. There is noticeable issues on the OL that have nothing to do with their experience.
  16. My concern is the lack of push we're seeing in the OL. Both T's get beat around the edges and even in the red zone RB's still getting hit in the back field against Sam Houston. It might be my only complaint still and it will be challenged a lot during SEC play. I don't really know what the issue is there. I understand inexperience but that doesn't seem like inexperience to me.
  17. They did try to get him, there was interest but he picked Missouri. Was this the kid at ULM? Because I remember he ran pretty hard against us and was a load.
  18. Going away when? It's still a thing right now. There has been no official call for that. If Owens got passed up so be it, I haven't said anything to the contrary, just repeating what the guys on the commentary team said during the game. Obviously parroting what Coach Sark himself said.
  19. Do you think Robertson to C permanently and Hutson back to LG would help? Robertson seems to play the C spot way more naturally than Hutson does.
  20. Guys on the commentary team mentioned how Sark wanted to see Lacey in this game, could be that he wants to red shirt him.
  21. Much better overall from Manning. He looked looser and less over thinking things. I will also say that goal line blocking is still an issue, RB's still getting hit in the backfield, etc. But that's just being nit picky but is something that needs to be addressed. Defense played lights out, though I'm still concerned with consistent pass rush, they look good in spurts but I thought we'd see more from them this year. McDonald is an absolute athletic freak. That INT he had was insane lol. My only nit picky stuff was the OL playing poorly at times against a porous defense but other than that, everything looked better and more in sync.
  22. Yeah saw the game against The Woodlands, he 100% needs to be a WR or whatever. Absolutely electric.
  23. Well, if he is fired and Sark makes that move, it could be really good. We'll see how things play out. I think regardless of how this season goes, it might be something Coach Sark just needs to make a move on sooner rather than later.
