  1. The reason he went into the portal is to have some experience at back up. Owens has next to no playing time and Lacey is a Fr.
  2. Oh man, I forgot our boy Charlies Wright, who fits into the first mold, too.
  3. Could be that he got passed up, could be that he doesn't fit the mold of what Sark wants at QB anymore. I mean look at the QB's since he first arrived that he recruited vs the ones he's recruited now. Quinn Ewers from the portal, Maalik Murphy, Trey Owens. What do these guys all have in common? More pocket passing guys, not very mobile/athletic. Since then he's recruited Arch Manning, KJ Lacey and now Dia Bell. Who is the '27 target? Kavian Bryant. What do these guys all have? Mobility, athleticism, etc. Yet can still hit all the throws that Sark wants. Just my take on it anyway. Don't think it's anything specific that Trey has done or didn't do, just think it's Sark going a different direction with what he wants out of his QB's and adapting his Offense to that.
  4. He was celebrating with Manning after one of his TD's on the sideline.
  5. The problem is, they way they play has nothing to do with inexperience. At least, imo. Also, you're forgetting that Hutson has played since he was a Fr. He has a ton of snaps. Hayden Connor is not a great example, he still wasn't that great by the time he left. Jones I can give you, who stayed for a couple of years. I'm also not expecting them to play like veterans. But I do expect them to play much better than they have. There is noticeable issues on the OL that have nothing to do with their experience.
  6. My concern is the lack of push we're seeing in the OL. Both T's get beat around the edges and even in the red zone RB's still getting hit in the back field against Sam Houston. It might be my only complaint still and it will be challenged a lot during SEC play. I don't really know what the issue is there. I understand inexperience but that doesn't seem like inexperience to me.
  7. They did try to get him, there was interest but he picked Missouri. Was this the kid at ULM? Because I remember he ran pretty hard against us and was a load.
  8. Going away when? It's still a thing right now. There has been no official call for that. If Owens got passed up so be it, I haven't said anything to the contrary, just repeating what the guys on the commentary team said during the game. Obviously parroting what Coach Sark himself said.
  9. Do you think Robertson to C permanently and Hutson back to LG would help? Robertson seems to play the C spot way more naturally than Hutson does.
  10. Guys on the commentary team mentioned how Sark wanted to see Lacey in this game, could be that he wants to red shirt him.
  11. Much better overall from Manning. He looked looser and less over thinking things. I will also say that goal line blocking is still an issue, RB's still getting hit in the backfield, etc. But that's just being nit picky but is something that needs to be addressed. Defense played lights out, though I'm still concerned with consistent pass rush, they look good in spurts but I thought we'd see more from them this year. McDonald is an absolute athletic freak. That INT he had was insane lol. My only nit picky stuff was the OL playing poorly at times against a porous defense but other than that, everything looked better and more in sync.
  12. Yeah saw the game against The Woodlands, he 100% needs to be a WR or whatever. Absolutely electric.
  13. Well, if he is fired and Sark makes that move, it could be really good. We'll see how things play out. I think regardless of how this season goes, it might be something Coach Sark just needs to make a move on sooner rather than later.
  14. He runs a pretty similar scheme to Sark but I doubt he's going to want to go from Miami HC in the NFL to Texas OC. But I could be wrong. Either way, Coach Sark isn't going to do that, at least from what we've been told numerous times.
  15. Yeah he didn't even have a recorded tackle last week. His first two weeks, were pretty sub-par. Thought with more playing time he'd thrive but even if teams are focusing on him, the others haven't really flashed much either. I understand we're saying teams are taking him away or getting it out quick but even still, I don't see much pressure coming from our edges.
  16. I don't disagree with what you're saying but many of t hese guys have been in the same system for 2-3 years now. I also understand not having experience, but Campbell and Hutson have a ton of snaps between the two of them. now if you want to say Hutson is starting for the first time at C, I'll go with that. I just don't think people expected it to look this bad. Inexperienced, yes. But what's the point of having a system in place if you still look this bad executing out there? Campbell is still making the same mental mistakes and errors he was when he first started as a Soph.
  17. I wouldn't have a clue about that stuff, I've always heard a ton of praise for Becton.
  18. I saw they are down to the 3rd or 4th string QB now. Statistically they are near or at the bottom in every defensive category. If you can't at least score 50 on these guys, that's not good.
  19. But when does this become a reflection of Coach Flood? I mean guys like Hutson, Campbell, hell even Stroh, Neto, etc. They've all been in the program 3-4 years now. Why are they still making these types of errors and not playing better? Stroh and Neto I can understand, not having a ton of playing experience but Campbell and Huston have both played since they were Fr/So. They have booked a ton of snaps. Baker I thought would be playing a little better. There seems to be a lack of mean streak in these OL. No one wants to go maul someone and make them eat dirt.
  20. I know it's a new position for Hutson and I've been a defender of his but he looks even worse at C than he did at G. Maybe that experiment isn't going the way Flood wanted? Maybe there needs to be a shuffling there? Also, the fact that Mosley still isn't ready to go, is concerning. Did we bring him in just to ride the bench? Also, we always hear that Manning is having a good week of practice and then he gets out of the field and yeah...lol.
  21. Also, I want to see the Texas pass rush in this one. SHSU is apparently an Air Raid team, so no excuses not to see more pass rush in this one. Though they also apparently are down to their like 3rd or 4th string QB, so who knows on that one...lol.
  22. Texas finally puts it together, 63-3
  23. Let's hope he finishes the season stronger than Uncle Eli lol.
