  1. But how can we expect him to be good here, if we're not willing to help him with NIL initiatives and be competitive in the market? It seems like overall our NIL game might be lacking a bit across the board. I understand the sentiment is that he isn't a great HC but we also need to give him the tools to succeed, no? When Coach Sark was hired as the Football HC, a lot of people were disappointed because of his poor HC record and his first year at Texas didn't quell any of that. Yet 3 years later, we've dominated recruiting, been to two straight semi-final's and are trending up as a program. Now, I'm just a new fan to Basketball, so maybe I don't understand all the in's and out's, like I do more so for Football, but that's just my uneducated take.
  2. I didn't know that about the NIL Thought with how everyone talks about Texas, our NIL funds would be fine. I get what you mean, sounds like Texas as a whole needs to step it's game up a bit.
  3. Do you think, similar to Baseball, that the right hire for Basketball, could see the NIL/support increase? I know Texas is a Blue Blood in Baseball, but it could help, no? Not advocating for Coach Terry to be fired, but just in a hypothetical instance.
  4. Man, they started it off so well, then we came crashing back to reality and it completely fell apart. Tough game. On the road, against the #5 team? Brutal man. We got bullied physically for most of the game and I was a bit surprised by that. Offensively, we started hot but was pretty lacklustre the rest of the way. Not sure what more Coach Terry can do? Would love to read some thoughts from the more knowledgeable Basketball posters. Is there anything Coach can do to turn this season around?
  5. I highly doubt we didn't push for any guys. That's getting a bit arrogant, lol. There was several speedsters in the portal who were more than worth taking a look at. Unfortunately, I think time was split with the playoffs and trying to fill holes that you know you will need.
  6. Unfortunately we missed out on several in the portal.
  7. Another upperclassman inside? Hutson and Umeozulu are both going to be Sr's, no? So you'll have 3 Sr's on the interior, a Soph and RS Soph at the T's?
  8. Thanks @Alex Butlerappreciate all that.
  9. Are you going to be doing some Baseball stuff on Youtube this year, @Blake Munroe? I'm trying to get more into Texas sports and Baseball is one of those. Do you or anyone else have any recommendations where I can learn some of the intricacies of the sport? Some of the stuff really goes over my head when it comes to stats and all that, lol.
  10. Niblack could be a good receiving option. Him and Washington (I think is the young man I'm thinking of) could make for a good pairing. Depends on how they develop their blocking skills.
  11. Well, I'll take the win. Got a bit dicey there in the 2nd half, but Coach Terry got them over the line. Still got a lot to clean up, but going on the road and against OU, getting the win and sticking it to your rival? I'll take that, lol. Got some tough sledding ahead, we'll see how the boys respond.
  12. Sark has brought in WR's every year he's been here with the portal (except year 1). I don't see that trend stopping. You have two guys with some experience and outside of that, a bunch of Fr and 1 year guys. Now I'm fine with leaving it like that, but we're always told that in the portal era you shouldn't be "inexperienced" anywhere.
  13. That's not enough money, he'll still make that in the 3rd round. Either way, he's not going to slip that far, imo. The QB class isn't that strong this year and he's probably 3rd or 4th off the board in terms of QB's.
  14. I know they don't typically want portal OL, but this guy seemed like he could be a huge boon on the interior. Sucks to keep missing out on guys, but not much you can really do. Having him inside with Campbell at the other G and Hutson at C, would've been crazy.
  15. I'm assuming he's just going around getting his visits in. Doesn't seem like he's in a rush to make a quick decision. He'd be a great grab, proven commodity at the G spot. Just not sure he's that interested in Texas, tbh. Hope I'm wrong. Also curious about Wilson from Georgia at Edge. Wonder if we're waiting to see what Trey Moore does before going in on him more?
  16. Not so sure that McCarthy is the only problem or even a problem for the Cowboys. The issues run deeper. I think Sark would be stupid to head to Dallas, with Jerry Jones as the owner and with less freedom on how to construct his roster. I'm a Green Bay fan, but I do hate what Jerry Jones has done to the Cowboys. He's made it a profitable business but on the field has just been let down after let down. Wasted so much talent over the years and good teams with piss poor coaching.
  17. Ah clue a brother in on what the CDC rumours are? That is someone I absolutely do not want to lose, lol.
  18. College football is pretty much 365, 24/7 it seems. Lots of investment has to go into it.
  19. I saw on Coffee and Football, that you are already on the road too, Gerry, lol. Stay safe out there man.
  20. I'm not really sure, I need to do a better job of paying attention to that type of stuff, lol. But you're probably right. Plus he is already a proven commodity. We'll see what happens.
  21. I do agree that Williams and Campbell need to come back, but if he does come back I hope we don't lose Baker. I also think while Hutson would be the shoe in for the starting position, don't discount Cruz. That kid has a mean streak in him and I think will push for playing time. Hutson has kind of stagnated a bit since his Fr season, whether due to injury or not, I'm not sure. Personally if you bring in this Pregnon guy from USC, I think without a doubt that Neto Umeozulu will transfer.
  22. Fair call, I just don't think he'll get his # retired. Sorry if it came off with me being a d*ck.
  23. I mean, he was great but let's not go crazy, lol.
  24. Wow this one completely shocked me, I did not see this coming at all. Completely out of left field.... Anyway, best of luck to you Kelvin. Thanks for all your hard work and representing Texas well. Go kick ass in the NFL.
