  1. Yeah, not exactly the kind of performance you need from your star player in a clutch game. Draft talk and recruiting rankings seem to supersede reason here.
  2. Last time Indiana basketball was top notch. Third best Lakers team of all time.
  3. I want to reiterate that Kareem was never a fatty.
  4. All good stuff. Biggest reason is Arch. If he's a real stud, they're toast.
  5. Marketing company told them it's okay to harass people to make money. Another told them to worry about contemporary issues. It's all coin in the end.
  6. Terry still hugs. Given that OTF likes to mark OGs, who do you guys think are the original OG rappers? Some guy recently tried to hype Tupac to me. I said man, you about ten years too late. It's gotta be NWA. May have been some local guys earlier than that, but they were the first to go national. Can't be no Tupac crap.
  7. 4.36 in the 40. Shows great hands and rout running. Could be drafted, but probably UDFA. Oregon's Tez Johnson, who was projected as a mid round pick, only ran 4.51 and weighed 154.
  8. Criminal fans admit that everything hinges on Mateer being not just good, but great, if they are to win something like eight or nine. Mateer's games against P4 teams last season were significantly worse than his games against G5 teams. Logic indicates the athleticism he showed against the Mountain West isn't likely to scale well against SEC competition. Combine that with inconsistent accuracy and it's not exactly a sure fire improvement. We'll see what hope gets them.
  9. He's not injured now. Watch his effort on the all 22 film. It's not a question of his top speed or ability. It's a question of preparation, technique and mindset. The fact that he didn't seem to know how to run his best during his 40 runs is the key here.
  10. Doubtful Blue hurt his stock. Bond may have. His lack of good form at the start of his 40s indicates he probably didn't train much for it. You look at his production drop during the season, combine that with what looks like a lack of preparation for the combine, and it reinforces the potential downside of his football character.
  11. That's considered a blue blood, but I think that was understood. I don't think Florida is considered a blue blood in basketball. I guess Duke is, but they won more than a few over a long period of time under Coach K. I see now that Indiana won two way before Knight. Thus my point is muted.
  12. I can't think of another program that's only one a title under one coach.
  13. Emotional circumstances often lead people to act strangely.
  14. The IU thing is strange. They weren't anything before Bobby Knight, and they haven't been anything since Bobby Knight.
  15. For the geniuses who argue Terry wasn't "supported" enough: Are any of them willing to claim that another P4 program will hire him as HC, set him up with a high level budget, and then wind him up and let him go?
  16. If only Terry had more resources. Doubtless the Longhorns would be playing hard, winning big, and in general looking like $17 million.
  17. Speaking of the criminals hiring Nagy as GM, it seems like a potentially good move in terms of taking roster management await from Venables, something he's obviously not very good at. The problem is that if you fire Venables in the next year or two (likely), it will be difficult to convince a high level coach to take the job if Nagy has final say over the roster, which appears to be the deal.
  18. I thought Helm looked like he played as fast or faster than JT Sanders. It'll be interesting to see if he runs better at the Texas pro day.
  19. I'll add that all this Tre Johnson love talk is overblown. He's very good. He's not some kind of generational talent. Doesn't play defense. Can't finish. Doesn't usually pass well. Holds the ball too long. That's something you can say Terry isn't necessarily screwing up.
  20. Who's talking top five? We're asking for competitive results against teams with similar talent. I ain't believing crap on all this talk about lack of spending until we have confirmed numbers. Again, if we're truly eighth or ninth in spending, we still aren't performing that well. We're thirteen in the conference.
