  1. Did Bo recruit anyone who worked out at Texas? I guess January.
  2. Being a billionaire doesn't exclude him from the rest of us. What do you think gives the Longhorns the advantages they have? There may not be one guy, but it sure isn't the rest of us.
  3. The fix will necessarily include separation between the higher level football programs and those who aren't. The question is how many can truly compete in a real market. Those who argue the traditions must be maintained have already lost. That crumbled in 2021. The argument that CFB fans would go away has already been disproven.
  4. Speaking of the Big 12, I think they've lost all of their match-ups with the SEC so far: Auburn v Baylor, Kansas v Missouri, and (most embarrassingly) AZ ST v MISS ST. All their big talk prior to the season has withered quickly.
  5. That would be a definite problem that would explain your lack of performance.
  6. There's definitely a socialistic element to it because it's done for the overall financial well being of the league. The big difference here is that the pool size of the NFL is much smaller at 32 teams. Does Campbell think it's a good idea for Tech, Big 12 schools and the ACC to share with G5 teams? That's the test question that immediately shows his true colors.
  7. I don't know. I kinda like to have a beer when this stuff kicks up. Aids the comedic effect.
  8. At this point, it doesn't matter how much evidence you give the zealots. Their either in the troll or convinced they really know.
  9. To channel Sark here, can we get some video/pictures of his backside and see if there's something going on there that might indicate injury or problems?
  10. I was just thinking about how hard some would like to speak things into existence or simply play media driven nonsense.
  11. If you start from the understanding that of course Campbell wants what's best for TTU, then you just look at the argument and see what makes sense wholistically. It comes down to what do you want college football and college athletics in general to look like. If you want to look something like it did in the past, then you make some kind of deal. If you think things have changed too much to try to hang on to the past, then you say no. History teaches that you can't go back and it's really hard to hang on.
  12. Sayin wasn't asked to do anything in the pass game. It worked because we made enough mistakes to give them a TD. On the offensive side, it took Arch a while to settle in. I don't think there's anything to extrapolate beyond that.
  13. I'm not seeing the lack of speed or read problems others are talking about. Every young QB has that from time to time. Best I could tell, Arch had three or four misreads and a couple of late throws. That's not a problem at this point.
  14. Arch improved his mechanics dramatically from week one to week two. In his extended action last year, he was fundamentally sound. The worry seems to be that he hasn't just rolled out there and looked great consistently.
  15. How can we put this? Mack was a better program builder than he was an actual football coach. I remember being frustrated much more often than satisfied. As a fan, I'm happy to recognize him for taking the Longhorns back to the top and re-establishing Texas football. There's really nothing to be gained by being churlish and pointing out what didn't happen.
  16. Sark's comment to the guy who tried to insist Arch is injured because of facial expressions was great. "We don't film your facial expressions when you're going to the bathroom." It's all a bunch of crap.
  17. Many of Arch's big plays last year were to Wingo and Moore, but I think your point is valid. Wingo and Moore are being covered differently now. Wingo is consistently doubled, and defenses are looking to keep a safety over Moore deep. Moore made a couple of nice catches yesterday. Hopefully Coach Jackson can get these guys to do a better job of working leverage. If Livingstone keeps making big plays, defenses won't be able to stop everything.
  18. Jerry's actually been pretty good at running a draft board and roster building (or at least he has scouts that can tell him). His problem is that the meddles so much that he undermines the coach in the locker room. But I agree. I don't think Shanahan would be willing to work under Jerry.
  19. I get it. The standard is high. If he doesn't work out, maybe the Cowboys can hire him, although I doubt seriously he'd work for Jerry.
  20. I didn't notice the no effort part. I did initially think he simply failed to adjust on the deep ball, but then I thought maybe he was running to a landmark and didn't realize until too late that he needed to adjust. It's true that either way you need to adjust, but without knowing more, I'm not ready to flat out criticize. When Sark was talking about how he thinks Simmons is maybe trying too hard, he said the same thing about Wingo. I think if Wingo was simply failing to play hard, Sark would've probably just stayed silent. I don't know. Like to give Wingo a few more games to work it out before putting too much into it.
  21. Man, that's some stuff. Hasn't Shanahan done enough to get the benefit of the doubt for a year or two? I hardly ever watch the Niners.
  22. Be interesting to note what these guys say when he's lighting it up consistently by mid season. My guess is shameless reversal. On the rewatch I thought I'd find stuff to criticize Wingo for. Not really too much. He had the drop, but he had a block that sprung Livingstone on the long TD. Hard to tell how he looked on his routes without the all 22. It seems that he and Arch are just having a hard time syncing up. Can't necessarily blame that on Wingo without knowing more about the routes, targets, etc.
  23. These games are so exciting I fell asleep watching.
  24. Redzone ineptitude. Make the Longhorns look like redzone wizards.
