  1. I know. I don't see Leonard making a big difference because they don't have the skill players to compete with the highest level SEC and Big 10 teams. I'm sure they will make the playoff if they win ten games. That would likely mean they went 2-2 against the four potentially tough teams they play (A&M, Louisville, Florida State and USC). That said, there is a very good chance none of those four teams will make the playoff, so I seriously doubt ND belongs even if they go 10-2. That will be much more of a TV decision than Alabama was over Florida State in 2023.
  2. That may be, but ND is almost always vastly overrated in the pre-season because the industry wants to drive TV ratings. Can't see Leonard being good enough to elevate them to true national title contention.
  3. That's what I'm thinking. Howard will have one of his multiple interception games and the OSU fanbase will go bucknuts. I don't see Sayin taking over. Probably be Devin Brown.
  4. Specifically, I want to get some feedback on Will Howard. I've watched some Ohio State fans gush on this guy, but I don't get it. He was an average Big 12 QB. He transferred because he wasn't going to even start in 2024. He personally lost the game to OK State in 2023. This is the glaring hole for the Buckeyes in 2024. If we face them in the playoff, I hope Will Howard is their QB.
  5. Based on his football demeanor (crying in the stands), and his obvious tendency to get rather full of himself, I'd take about four or five QBs before him.
  6. Based on the way the criminal interlopers north of the Red River are talking about Fasusi, it seems they're about to go Switzer old school down and dirty.
  7. Are the Sooners still high on Fasusi's list? They keep saying they think they're the favorite.
  8. Holy Moses! Everyone was saying maybe high 4.4s or low 4.5s. 4.35 probably means first round.
  9. Toughest to easiest. 1. Georgia 2. at A&M 3. at Michigan 4. Oklahoma 5. at Arkansas 6. Florida 7. Kentucky 8. Colorado ST 9. Mississippi ST 10. UTSA 11. at Vanderbilt 12. UL Monroe
  10. I don't deny this. How many games has he made a positive difference in this season? Maybe two or three. That's it. He lost the game to Miami last year in the Great Eight. A couple of talented guards next year who can't run a real offense won't get us past a marginal tournament team.
  11. Terry's game management has been seriously lacking. His inability to establish consistency has been a problem. No definable offense or team identity has been a problem.
  12. I know Bobby has defended Terry, but I think the season's return clearly indicates he's not the guy. My guess is we'll meander along for two or three years as a barely tournament team.
  13. I've asked a couple of Sooners fans about Venables losing the sign stealing edge with the in helmet communication. They react just like Michigan homers and start talking about "everybody does it." My point to them is that some did it better, and now that you can't do it all, those who were better at it (e.g. Venables) won't have that advantage any longer.
  14. They've had the "dead" period in recruiting since early this month. Don't know for sure when it opens up again.
  15. I saw that. It could happen, but I think the Longhorns are likely to trip up more than once during their adjustment to the weekly grind of SEC play.
  16. I think that's a little overly optimistic. It could happen, but, at this point, I think 10-2 is more likely. I think they have the Sooners pegged about right at 7-5. I want to see how the Aggies look before even trying to predict their win total.
  17. Those guys look pretty serious.
  18. I read somewhere that the rule does apply to Texas and OU this year even though they don't officially enter the SEC until July. Now, historically speaking, rules restricting recruiting have never meant anything to the criminal interlopers north of the Red River.
  19. You wonder if Elko will get the remainder of that '22 recruiting class turned around. My guess is he'll need to be pretty tough this spring and then again in August, which will likely result in some departures. Better to cut the cancer out now so the healing can take place.
  20. No, there is nothing on that. As long as the system is "open," there will be no restrictions on where the money comes from. This is why you get all the caterwauling about "Wild West," "no guardrails." This is part of the reason why the SEC and Big 10 need to seriously consider breaking away from the NCAA and establishing their own rules. If they go to an employment model with contracts, they can begin to regulate things like agents, movement, etc.
  21. For those who think this is just some lowly judge, and it's temporary, and we don't know yet, etc., you must take into account the federal court system and the legal principal of precedent. Precedent is the key. The 2021 Supreme Court decision that opened NIL was very strongly worded. Justice Kavanaugh wrote a concurring opinion basically warning the NCAA that they had better change, and they better not come back to the federal judiciary trying to protect their monopoly (this is where the "anti-trust" stuff comes in). Thus, when the NCAA went after the Vols for the NIL payments to Nico during recruiting, all the legal experts immediately chimed in and said there is no way the NCAA can win this battle in court because the Supreme Court already told them no. This district judge from eastern Tennessee is merely following that precedent. It will stand: bet on it, mark it down, take it to the bank, however you want to describe it. It's over for the NCAA. They must accept this and try to adapt, or they will go the way of the dinosaurs. The only question of import left now is, "Should the SEC and Big 10 wait and see if the NCAA will get its act together?" Given the facts of NCAA long term and recent history, the answer to that question is no, and it's clearly time to move forward without them.
  22. Sounds like someone trying to help Jimmy Smith get more money.
  23. Those shots look like tennis balls in his hands.
  24. This has been going on the last two years.
