  1. Past hour
  2. Watched a good amount of the Texas State @ Boise State game last night. I was thinking, what if Texas hired GJ Kinne to be their real OC and offensive play caller? I'm not convinced Kinne would be a great CEO of an entire football program, but his offenses are pretty good. Have him be the "HC of the offense" and like Muschamp, bring in his own guys for his offensive staff. Obviously, this won't happen, but just a thought.
  3. Sark: “We found out about [running back] Michael Terry in the midst of all this because of the Hollywood Smothers injuries and the Derek Cooper [injury] stuff.”
  4. Historically the committee values head to head wins above quality or strength of losses.
  5. it seems like we'll be 9th behind Alabama but just ahead of OSU and Ole Miss. based on results, that seems the most obvious place for Texas. Alabama's win over MSU was much more impressive and they were ranked ahead of us last week (and had a bye). will be interesting to see whether Indiana drops back a place or two. it looks like there could be 5 new ranked teams this week given losses at the bottom of the rankings. Not impactful, but interesting/fun to see some new teams ranked. Iowa for sure. New Mexico? Oregon State? USC again (probably).
  6. Exactly, I get the OU loss I guess, but you can’t lose to a bad UF team at home. Especially the way you lost those games, by letting up.
  7. Based on everyone’s eyes telling them he is the best runner but him getting one carry.
  8. Gerry and CJ both said this on a couple of threads.
  9. Based on what?
  10. Apparently he is “in the dog house”. Do we have any clarification on why this is or is it just conjecture because he is healthy and not playing much?
  11. Should be - not so sure will be. I think we'll be behind Alabama, OSU, and possibly Ole Miss. 🤘
  12. Texas will ranked between 6-9. Teams ahead of Texas in no particular order, Miami, Georgia, ND, Utah, BYU, UCLA. Texas will be ahead of OSU, Ole Miss
  13. Texas No. 9 https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50321732/projecting-2026-playoff-top-12-week-9-cfp
  14. The solution is to win out and finish the regular season 10-2 and take it out of the committee's hands. If Texas doesn't make it at 9-3, so be it. Can't use the playing Ohio State in non-con excuse this season because you beat them. Stop losing to average to below average football teams.
  15. With the first CFP seedings coming out this week, it feels like the polls this week are going to be very interesting and I don't think Texas is going to like what happens... There is going to be a logjam of 2 loss teams, including Texas, and now also Ohio State, Ole Miss, and TN, all wins for Texas, but who all have arguably better losses. Through in LSU, Alabama, and USC... It feels like pollsters might lose Texas in the middle of all those. I predict both OSU and Alabama and possibly Ole Miss are ranked higher than Texas despite the head to heads. Normally, I might not worry about it at this point in season, and it feels like we still have some things to prove to earn it, but with such a logjam of teams between about 8 and 15, and w/ Boise and ND reserved spots, it feels unusually important to have the right pecking order set now even before we have to go on road and take care of business. If we do that I'm pretty sure we are in. I still think things sort out over time, just that it is maybe more important than usual to get this initial ranking right to avoid someone else making the decision down the road - especially if we are also thinking there is any chance for a 3 loss invite... 🤘
  16. 13 first downs and 280 yards of offense we had. fugly. we're playing at mizzou at lsu at atm. looking at 9-3 at best. yesterday didnt help with strength of schedule. texas state scored 42 in 2nd half and still lost. ou and florida shat the bed. . oh st lost . mizzou is a great home team so be ready or that could be fugly....
  17. Official visit note OnTexasFootball has learned that Shadow Creek DL Xavier Muhammad (6-3.5, 305) will make his official visit to Texas the weekend of the Arkansas game. The Longhorns continue to be in position to earn the flip of the 4-star prospect out of the Houston area. OTF can also report, that is not the only expected official visit that weekend.

  18. Demote him to tackles coach and bring in somebody else to coach and recruit IOL.
  19. If he won’t be fired maybe reassignment to special teams and get another OL coach.
  20. The whole offense is in a dog house
  21. This has nothing to do with "scheme." It's simple inside and outside zone blocking. The Texas OL are just not making blocks. Movement, stunts, delayed loops, run blitzes, and all the other non-conventional defensive maneuvers are confusing them. Plus, they push like marshmallows and don't move a soul. No clever scheme in the world is going to fix that at this point in the season with the same players. Unless Sark gets rid of his zone guru and hires an OL coach who can actually teach gap and assignment blocking, and how to be physical and move people, his offenses will keep sputtering and get broken down on the side of the road.
  22. I agree, but outside of Georgia---almost every SEC school is complaining about their Oline, their OL coach and limited run game
  23. Today
  24. In theory, yes, but you’ve got five problems: 1. How long will Texas be without Wingo and Coleman? 2. The offensive line couldn’t pass protect collectively with Goosby and it’s worse without him. 3. Arch’s clock is off and there are only so many hits he can absorb before something bad happens. 4. You won’t win on the road against quality competition in the SEC without something resembling a competent running game. 5. The offense has issues that won’t get fixed this season. The only solutions are the kinds of changes that are made in the offseason.
