Blew his wad on softball; would be glorious for Texas to win it again.

He doesn’t spend on softball, it’s another guy

Don’t understand the portal opening during Regional series heading to Super Regionals.

Feels like really bad timing

My hot take is that it is the NCAA’s attempt to smuggle in a pseudo “competitive balance” mechanism that other professional sports have. NCAA thought process being if we have the portal window at the time that would be most difficult for top programs to recruit the portal it makes it easier for lesser programs to get better.

Cody Cambell isn’t bankrolling tech softball or basketball. Softball it’s Tracey Sellars and her husband who is Cambells Oil business partner. For basketball it’s mostly Dustin Womble who donated for the football facility they just opened

ACC guys lack the will to win.

Players take on the personality of the coaches.  Add the top talent and Schloss makes that mentality go away!

El Jefe, is Hill hitting the portal a big loss for us,

I don’t think so. With Pack coming back, the potential of Jonah coming back and portal additions, the outfield is crowded.

Yep, Tracy played for Tech 20 something years ago and the family gave so much money for NIL and facilities that they named the softball facility after her a few weeks ago -

(quote from TexasTech.com)

Tracy Sellers Field

On March 27, 2026, Texas Tech formally announced the renaming of its softball facility to Tracy Sellers Field, recognizing former Red Raider softball student-athlete Tracy Sellers and her family’s significant impact on the program. Sellers, who competed for Texas Tech from 2001-03, and her husband, John, have played a major role in supporting Red Raider Athletics through philanthropic giving, including contributions to the Red Raider Club, NIL support, and capital improvements that have helped elevate Texas Tech Softball in recent years.

The announcement also reflects the Sellers family’s direct investment in the facility itself. Prior to the 2026 season, the stadium received several upgrades, including a new awning and protective netting down both baselines, made possible in part through the family’s generosity. Texas Tech framed the renaming as a tribute not only to Tracy Sellers’ legacy as a former student-athlete, but also to the family’s continued commitment to helping provide a championship-level experience for current and future Red Raiders.

I cant put faith in Jonah to stay healthy. And that pains me from being from the 409. I love the kid and wish him the best, but the best ability is availability. That's not something hes shown so far
