Bold words from the Michigan QB!

I think there is plenty of talent here with Underwood. Now that they have a quarterback coach and someone actually focused on his development, I bet we see a jump from Underwood this year.

But, still... bold words.

Not sure the great players from Michigan but since Brady’s for Cali and Woodson is from Ohio we can cross those off the list.

What he is is far from determined at this point.  He’s played one year.  Good for him for believing in himself.  But he should keep that to himself.

From what I remember, Urban Meyer interviewed Kyle Whittingham on his podcast show after he took the job and said Sherrone Moore did not have a "full time QB coach" last year for Underwood.

It's so crazy how LSU got dealt a winning hand back to back years when it came to recruiting a QB by pure luck. He flipped to Michigan and they lost out on Sorsby lol. Lane would've despised his QB room.

To me, the jury is still out on him. He was a freshmen . He will get better. We will have to face him next year.

He’s young so he probably doesn’t know them or remember them, but he will have a hard time passing Jerome “The Bus” Bettis and Ty Law both from Detroit. It’s good to have a lofty view of yourself as long as you put in the work and prove it, but man, that’s an UPHILL climb for sure!

Does he know Tom Brady played at Michigan? Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson won the Heisman. Jim Harbaugh.. Cowboys legends Drew Henson AND Mazi Smith.. Tom Harmon won the Heisman in 1940, flew (mostly crashed) planes during WWII, grandfather of the Nelson twins

As far as the best from the state, Derek Jeter was raised in Michigan. The Fab Five's Jalen Rose and Chris Webber.. some guy named Magic.. Rudy T

Pamela McGee, Olympian, 2nd pick in the inaugural WNBA draft..mother of Imani McGee, kinda won some Big 12 awards playing for Texas women's basketball

 

..but yeah, no one that notable. He's got a chance

I live in the Midwest and Tom was QB at Michigan when I grew up.  He started games and Michigan won a lot of those games when Tom started.  Tom played a great Orange Bowl game and got a victory over Alabama in his final collegiate game.

Numerous teams passed on him six times in the 2000 draft, rest is history.
