Westtex Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago trending the right direction but I do wonder how a non-contact injury results in a bone bruise Quote
Sarkattack Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago I can kinda breathe again. rest up and get healthy Goosby!! Quote
selfdm Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago It all depends on how severe the bone bruise is. For a big guy it is probably harder. The main thing will be pain management 1 Quote

MikeyHookEm Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago Okay now that we know it’s a bone bruise. I can admit I maybe overreacted this morning 1 Quote

Longhornlove Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago Hopefully Google AI is off.....significantly. For a knee hyperextension, recovery from a bone bruise typically takes 6 to 12 weeks, but severe cases can occasionally take up to several months to fully heal on an MRI. Because hyperextension forcefully impacts the front of the knee joint, these injuries frequently occur on the outer side of the knee bone (lateral femoral condyle or tibial plateau) and are often accompanied by ligament sprains. Expected Recovery Timeline Weeks 1–3 (Acute Phase): Focus is on reducing swelling and protecting the joint. You will likely need a knee brace or crutches to limit weight-bearing activities. Weeks 4–6 (Sub-Acute Phase): Swelling decreases and walking becomes easier. Low-impact rehabilitation begins, focusing on restoring a normal range of motion. Weeks 7–12 (Strengthening Phase): Gentle progressive resistance training begins to rebuild the quadriceps and hamstrings. Months 3+ (Return to Sport): High-impact activities, pivoting, and running are reintroduced only after a doctor clears you and your strength is fully restored. Quote

Assistant Regional Manager Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago Some of y'all need to apologize for your actions over the last 2 hours. Reminds me of @Joe Zurathreatening to leave the board over not getting a LG then Seymore committed the next day. 4 Quote

Sanka Decaf Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago with all the "experts" on this thread, if they had just let everyone here examine him last night we would have figured all this out before this morning. Wasted talent I say. Quote

Wasted talent I say. Some might not be experts, but there are a lot of doctors on this board . Probably a good place to get info. Not my particular speciality, so I abstained from speculation . We do have a lot of advanced recovery therapies available these days . But hard to tell timeframe. Good news considering though. No ligament damage Edited 21 minutes ago by Austalgia 1 Quote

Question is if there is any other damage. I had that in hoops my sophomore season from severe hyperextension. Did you miss any time? What was the timetable? Quote
mmdaytontexas Posted 19 minutes ago Posted 19 minutes ago (edited) There is no structural damage, so the only limiting factor will be pain. There was no report of ligament or cartilage damage, so I would assume the hyperextension was minor and the only damage was the bruise. Let's hope he's a fast healer and the swelling and discomfort rapidly subside with rest and the best orthopedic treatment on the planet. Edited 18 minutes ago by mmdaytontexas 3 Quote
SpurHorn Posted 7 minutes ago Posted 7 minutes ago Credible source told me 4-6 weeks. This is great news. Hypertension often come back quicker than expected too and don’t seem to linger much from what I’ve seen. Quote
Paul L Posted 4 minutes ago Posted 4 minutes ago The positive is I didn’t log on to OTF this morning until I saw the ESPN alert on my phone: The negative is I had to scroll through 12 pages of experts arguing over sh!t they know nothing about. My wife is a rheumatologist and she said he just needs a few IV’s to prevent arthritis. 😂 Quote
TheNightKing Posted 3 minutes ago Posted 3 minutes ago for what its worth, in my college baseball days i had a bone bruise in my right elbow and played a full series 2 weeks later. had a couple shots and some hardcore icing for a week, then it was more about if i could tolerate it. Quote
