Think the SMU RB we took last minute in ‘24 who took a few garbage time carries with the third string. That is the type of production to expect from anyone you add this late, especially at a position like LB. I wouldn’t put it past anybody to be honest. You don’t want to end the season asking “what if?” It’s a long season and if someone can come in as depth and learn on the go it’s something the staff needs to consider. Iron sharpens iron. Idk why you’d bail now tho. Bail at the end of the season. But to quit 2 weeks before the game is crazy 1 Quote
Cnutt4ever Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago That’s a bummer, what happened? I am just nosey, but anytime these situations happen it’s usually not a great time for the kid. Hope all is well with him. 2 Quote
Lnghrn Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Fans show their true colors when they trash a player without knowing the facts. It was also stated he’s dealing with some personal issues. I believe his dad or mom was on this board in the past. Some issues are bigger than football. Best of luck to the young man. 6 Quote

TTown Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago I can see kicking the tires on the JMU linebacker. Yeah it's late , but gonna be a long season. Injuries are bound to happen. I would assume this didn't blindside Texas. So maybe they have already been looking just in case. Or they feel confident in the youngsters . That's why they get paid the big bucks 👍 1 Quote
jcash02 Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago Since nobody has revealed what's actually going on, I don't think it's cool to start lashing out at him. It's also not cool that the media is being so cloak & dagger with this. If it's a non-disciplinary personal issue just say that. If it's over playing time, transfer portal etc just say that too. We haven't heard anything about violating team rules, so the little coy wink & nod games are annoying. 1 Quote
HookemFromOkc Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago No idea what he is dealing with personally, but I hope he is ok. Hookem 1 Quote

Shmatt Posted 37 minutes ago Posted 37 minutes ago (edited) Jeez kid chose ego over legacy, sad but it happens gotta move on. If it is truly personal than bust of luck, wonder when we’re gonna hear about what went down Edited 36 minutes ago by Shmatt Quote

Putting myself in his shoes…if my gripe was about playing time, the last thing I would do is quit and have nowhere to play for a whole season. 1 Quote

Great young man and represented the university with class I stand with Joe. I don’t know the full story at all, but he was a dog. Undersized and usually at a disadvantage athletically, and yet always found a way to make winning plays. I wish him the best. I remember fist bumping my phone when he flipped from A&M. Hope he finds what he’s looking for. 3 Quote
Bunk Moreland Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago 17 minutes ago, Bunk Moreland said: I’m a T Smith fan—I think he’s a dynamic playmaker who always seems to be around the ball—but championship teams have squeezed out all the entitlement to be a cohesive unit focused on the bigger goals. If he thought he was entitled to a starting role and wasn’t willing to fight for it (and play whatever role the team asked of him even if he failed), then he is not a championship player. If he’s dealing with a personal issue and it’s not about hurting feelings about a starting role, then I take back what I said. 2 Quote

DarkBoi72 Posted 6 minutes ago Posted 6 minutes ago We simply need to wish him and his family well. We can all speculate what the issue is, and be completely wrong. I'm sure @Gerry Hamilton @Bobby Burton and the rest of the team know the facts. However, I respect the On Texas Football staff even more for not putting TyAnthony's business in the streets. Remember, before we start calling young players "losers" think about some of the personal matters you've dealt with in the past. Keep it clean people. Life is Life!!! Quote
UTexas Posted 2 minutes ago Posted 2 minutes ago Sucks to lose him but I wish him well and hope everything turns out ok for him. Quote
