"Bro" i appreciate your input. I graduated from UT, so there's that. Just giving my personal preference, and I'm capable of separating that from what logically makes sense understanding how polls work. Texas always has a large target on our back. The target being larger isn't beneficial to the team. In 05 Texas was ranked #2 all season behind USC and they used that as motivation. I'd say that turned out pretty well. 🤘🏼

I'll enjoy the ranking but realize we are probably somewhere between 1 and 5 right now. Still so much to improve on, but that's what the early season is for. To get ready for the SEC gauntlet.

But hell yeah that toughness and culture came through and got us that top spot .That team could have laid down and got beat by 30+. They didn't  and nothing but congrats. Enjoy rolling into Knoxville at #1. Oh boy then it gets real!!

Does it really matter if we are ranked #1- #5? Will Tennessee, OU, Ole Miss, LSU, Florida, Miss State, Arkansas, Missouri, or Aggy play us any differently? Hell, we are Texas. I think they play us just as hard when we are ranked #25th. Like Sark told his team, "Prove us right." Wear #1 like a chip on your shoulder that others are trying to knock off. Let it motivate you.

Success is harder to manage than failure.  But, that 4th Quarter makes me think this is a team that will “lock in.”  We do have some weaknesses, but the things we need to “clean up” are manageable - like dropped passes.  You catch those, and last night would have been a possession game in our favor.

Are you good with zero national championships in 21 years? If you want more than 1 championship every two decades, it’s probably best for them to learn how to play as #1

Yeah they all will play us like we are #1 , even if we were unranked 😂. But if this team is really built different, then we will keep improving and show it. Always thought 10- 2 was about right. Great shot at that now as a floor and even more👍

I think rankings in early September are misleading at best. It’s nice to be included as ONE of the best teams in the country but, we really don’t know which ones are the best until everyone finishes beating up on their little sisters. Let’s wait and see how some of them handle it when they have some adversity and how they handle it.

Who are the better teams to date? Hell I have no clue. I do know that our Longhorns are in that mix.

Let’s hope the playoff committee grows some real balls and start pointing out weak schedules when releasing their top 25 in about 5-6 weeks. Being undefeated with a weak schedule should not be rewarded (Notre Dame is a great example!).

Well, Bijan Robinson did say in an interview with Rich Eisen that if Texas beat OSU they would go undefeated the rest of the season.

How long have you been a fan of Texas? If you have been a Texas fan as long as me, you would know what I'm talking about when I say we get everyone's best shot no matter what we are ranked. Why? Because of the name across our chest. The#1 ranking doesn't add any more weight, especially as a player. We as Texas fans seem to freak out more than everyone else at being #1 because we don't think we are worthy of it.

If they don’t stay focused Tennessee or Mississippi State will humble them.

I'm not, and I'd love to have this conversation because there's a lot to unpack here. But frankly I don't think it's worth having the discussion with you. I'd prefer to spend my day celebrating the win and having the discussion with someone who is mature enough to have a more nuanced discussion.
