Our fans

I thought our fans were spectacular Saturday night.  4Q was a more electric than 1990 UH.  Yep, I said it.  Two comments/questions for the board:

1. We booed the team on a couple occasions in 3Q.  In today's college football, how do we feel about that?  Have we softened our position that "these are kids"?  Or did the amount of money they're rightfully being paid change your attitude on that?  

2. A couple people texted me about Texas fans rushing the field.  I was in section 1, and I saw no such thing.  Did anyone else see this?

Some students near where the band sits jumped the rails to try to rush the field and immediately got cut off by cops / security

I'd like to think it was directed at Sark for his play calling, but it all lands the same.

I heard boos from OSU fans in the 2nd half.  I also saw a few kids rush the field from the SEZ.

1. I was down on the rail on the East side and I did not see anyone rushing the field. I think most of the people on the field were from the south endzone club who have direct access to the field. I am not sure if they are truly allowed to go out past the end zone after the game, but it was not a "rush the field".

2. UT fans were definitely booing, and maybe it was "directed" at Sark, but I guarantee that is not how it was taken. The players will think it is directed at them (and they did hear it).

3. I always have and always will thinking booing your own team is stupid. Whether that is college or professional sports. I understand the frustration and the temptation to boo, but it says more about the maturity of us fans than it does anything else. It is not like the players or coaches are not trying to do their best and booing is going to somehow remind them to play or coach harder. They are trying way harder than we are as fans. They are just humans and sometimes fail.

4. Save the booing for the refs. They may also be trying their best, but booing may actually subconsciously lead them to benefitting your team on the next close call.

Regarding the booing, a lot of us (myself included) were very vocal about how displeased we were with the showing up until the 4th quarter. We are all human and spending $500+ at minimum to see a team that looked unfocused and unprepared must have been frustrating.

I wouldn't do it and don't think it is a good idea, but I think it was easy to see people were booing flat passes/bubble screens that mostly weren't working. 

That's about Sark's play calls. 

I think Sark knows the standard is the standard, he mentioned he heard it, and he was a man about it. I imagine he can coach the guys through it, too.

Booing your own team is the ultimate trash fan activity. I was around for that Kansas loss, this ain't that bad lol.

However, if I saw another backwards pass for a 5 yard loss. A boo might have come out.

We don't rush the field for anyone, I hope those kids understand moving forward.

I was jacked the fans didn’t leave! I remember games in years past where this happened and needed to have it happen.

I'm not smart enough to know if those plays were to set up future plays, i.e. train the defenders' eyes for certain behavior to set the trap.  We won, so I digress.

The final pass to Mosley was definitely set up by the bubble screens earlier.
