The opponent adjusted stats show that we have a slightly better defense and significantly better offense. That said, it still profiles as a low scoring game and such a game could be swung by a single fluke play, eg. We're in the Red zone and Arch throws a pick 6. That's what worries me. I agree at looking at opponent stats also, but to some degree the stats with 4 to 5 games in where some teams faced 2-3 non-power conf schools it makes it a big challenging to draw conclusions. I looked at their opposition rankings when I looked up their stats. Their offense has faced two rated defenses in Georgia (ranked 7) and Michigan (ranked 6). New Mexico is also a much better defense than they've historically been (ranked 14), and a much better program than they've historically been. We've faced 1 top ranked defense (Ohio St 17). Tenn is ranked 29th. We've faced better offenses teams than they have. They have NFL players all over their defense, but we have much better depth in our D-line, which could be a big factor in a game where the temp is expected to be in the 90's. We have much better players on offense based upon NFL projections, but we haven't executed very well on offense. I think when everything is said and one this comes down to what Bobby said earlier in the week - who wins the turnover and rushing battle. Quote

Gimme the horns but this isn’t an easy one That's just nonsense, a one off game like that doesn't mean it's the norm or anything can happen. Not sure why people have to make things up try and justify worrying about a game. We're going to beat their ass. It's that simple. Quote

We're still ranked much higher in things like FEI, SP+, FPI, etc. E.g. https://bcftoys.com/2026-ofei Now that is a ridiculously mediocre result given the talent on this offense, but still, it's markedly better than OU. watty7796 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I gotcha here Bobby. Sooners have a lot of issues...Texas has some major issues as well. This is the #1x2 qb Sark has got recruiting. Would anyone say that hes maximized QE or Arch. If this part of the development doesnt improve I dont think that train will continue coming to Texas. Quote

Given that, and Sark's struggles to put an explosive and consistent offense on the field, this game against a top 10 defense makes many people really nervous. 🙋♂️. If a bad UT team led by charlie can beat a decent ou team any team can beat any team in this rivalry. Quote
