Austalgia Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) I think it’s protecting the ball . He’s not playing loose because he is scared to turn the ball over . He is best when he is a gunslinger, and except for a couple of isolated throws, he’s too scared to do that right now. Whether it be coaches, family, or his own headspace, he is a little scared to sling it . It’s been reinforced by him giving 2 games away with 2 turnovers. Last year he protected the ball pretty well, and wasn’t so shell shocked. Edited 11 hours ago by Austalgia Quote

It's not a stretch to suspect that there could be subconscious behaviors to avoid taking hits like that. For me, it would most likely be entirely conscious. I still vividly remember a hit I took almost 60 years ago in seventh grade. While I agree with you on some hits staying with you, I think Q was never physically the same after that hit. He never had the arm strength / velocity that he had prior to that hit and the injury caused by it. Quote

TheRoJoShow Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) 6-0 with competent QB play, at least 5-1. Have to make a change. It’s still salvageable. Edited 10 hours ago by TheRoJoShow 1 Quote

Ryan Clement Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Man that was rough. Makes me feel alittle less angry at sark, but only if he does the right thing this weekend and make a change. Love manning but he is struggling bad right now. We have to salvage this season and give it to KJ 2 Quote

He had some great games and then would have some really bad ones. So can we really say it's 100% just on Arch? I mean I can see what the video is saying and hell even what the all 22 is showing with guys open and all that. But I still hesitate to just say it's all Arch. Because if it's 100% on him, then what have they been teaching him and what has he been doing in practice? Ewers just wasn't talented. Like at all. Subpar athleticism and a legitimately weak arm. He hit his ceiling early. Arch is legit very talented but doesn't have the brain it seems . Quote

Ewers usually started hot and could light teams up. His other main struggle was the deep ball which is a big part of Sarks offense. He was money in the short game and could move the chains. Sure but there was a lot of games t hat the offense would disappear and struggle. Even when he was healthy. 1 Quote

My take on how we should proceed - internal meeting with Arch explaining this (of course he wants to play, if he was concussed we would proceed the same way) followed by him sitting out the game - or at least first half - and building the confidence of the rest of the team. Bobby Burton Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 8 hours ago, TXFF said: That is not the Arch we saw the second half of last season so we know he can play much better. Something has caused him to become apprehensive and play tight. Fear of throwing an interception? Not trusting his receivers to continue on the proper route? Expecting to get blasted by a 350 pound DT because he doesn't trust his OL? The overall pressure of everyone's expectations? Or all of that combined? I presume the team has a sports psychologist who can help him work through whatever it is. This is where I come out. Expected an improved player, not a regressed one. 1 Quote

Most of their plays involved misdirection and/or a quick pass. He didn’t really have to stand back there and pat the ball. 2 Quote
Kelton H. Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think against Oklahoma, there weren't enough outlets, this week Sark seemed to fix that but still the same result. I understand the dilemma. That dilemma shouldnt alter your thoughts on winning games though. Either win or get fired. That's the name of the game. Could also bring in KJ to throw to Arch as a new wrinkle. Not a new offense but wrinkle. 1 Quote
Beldar Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago Seems it may not be play calling. But going for it on 4th and 2 with a Running game that can not pick up short yardage against a high school team with a 2 TD lead is my gripe on Sark. Still love the Horns and hope like hell a miracle happens but does not look good without good many changes. Hell we have to go against Ole Miss offense without Simmons. One of the best players in college football is out and almost not chatter about it because of how bad we are on Offense. Sucks. 1 Quote

I didn't realize there were that many receivers that wide open. Arch is bad, but the OL doesn't get a pass. They were pretty bad at times too. What in the hell were these two OL doing on this play? LG and LT doing there job. Center , RG, RT not so much. Quote
