I think Ojo and Carlton are good prospects and all but they may be the two most over ranked players in Texas if not the country. Overpaying for them is something aggy would doโ€ฆ tech is making some interesting decisions after blowing a ton of money on their admittedly good portal haul.ย

@Bobby Burtonย this seems a personal vendetta to stick it to Texas you can see with Lee Hunter, David Bailey, Felix Ojo, now Jamarion Carlton? Itโ€™s just not a coincidence.

Sark and his team have a proven track record of success when it comes to player evaluations.

Walgreens made a lot of money by placing stores wherever there is a McDonald's.

Texas Tech will do well in the Big 12 by poaching players Texas thinks are going to be stars.ย  Imitation is still the highest form of flattery.

Some think the way to make a name for yourself is to try to target the brand that matters most.ย

IT said that Carlton was giving a potentially ridiculous offer from Tech that other schools arenโ€™t willing to matchโ€ฆfun

Love the word โ€œpotentiallyโ€ in that reporting.

I think offers like that are going to be common. Weโ€™ll see what recruits want to do with it.

Frankly, Tech hasnโ€™t done a whole hell of a lot with the players they have recruited from high school.

This was what was meant by โ€œfake moneyโ€. Most of these deals are contingency deals, I.e., if the settlement is struck down, here is your pay. These are risky deals because I guarantee you these schools are selling the fact that the settlement will get struck down.ย

Spurning Texas for Texas Tech is literally spurning a HC with pro experience and connections for a HC whoโ€™s spent the majority of his career in HS.ย
ย

Short sighted is an extreme euphemism. But itโ€™s honestly a great filter. Guys with a HS/Texas Tech mindset are probably not who we want in our locker room.ย

Not sure if they will be able to afford to keep their existing roster in place but with their existing roster perhaps they donโ€™t want to.ย

Tech better make the Big XII Championship game or itโ€™s bye bye Joey time!

Iโ€™m not worried about โ€œTech sticking it to Texas.โ€

ย

Honestly, Texas being in the SEC, having Top 5 talent, Arch (then Lacey/Bell), we really donโ€™t have a reason to worry about what Tech does.ย
ย

Lubbock can do Lubbock, weโ€™ll HookEm and win it all.ย

Whoโ€™s the other edge on our board?

BPW, Carlton and Henderson are takenย

Kreul? Barnes?

Kreul is a pure pass rusher Buck, behind Collin for 1 year. Would be ideal.ย
Henderson is a do it all Buck. Would be great.ย
Carlton is a Jack, same as Wesley, good player, times his jump well but isnโ€™t a great pass rusher.ย
BPW is a Jack, might be a 3tech but needs 25-30 lbs.ย

I donโ€™t prefer BPW or Carlton bc both play Jack, we need a Buck for sure.ย

Barnes has some intrigue for sure, seems to be able to do a lot. Can play Buck and might grow into a Jack.ย

So, are we adding up all these offers? Between softball and football they arenโ€™t at the 20 million yet? ย Who is going to enforce this sh$tย

Nobody. Thatโ€™s the problem with NCAA, make rules but no cops to enforce.ย
Also, no balls when they do have evidence.ย

Sounds childish doesnโ€™t it. ย They are picking on us. ย If they want to use their money like this, they can.ย

We evaluate really well, maybe they are just using our evals on players they know they can out $$$ us.ย

I'm impressed that the Tech boosters are spending so much money on their team. Hope it pays off for them.ย

I hope a meteorite hits their stadium and they all blow up, and ย it catches their oil fields on fire, and all their profits go up in smoke. ย But also not upset about the 2 we lost. ย But still the blowing up thing regardless.ย

The fact that Carlton posted horns up in the Ojo livestream and then this post tells me everything I need to know about wanting him on the team. ย I hope they withdraw his offer if that is possible.ย
