Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 2 hours ago Moderators Posted 2 hours ago Couple of notes on Jonah Williams First, was told Thursday he is up to 217 pounds. And that doesn't mean anything for his position. Prior to re-injuring his hammy, he was one of the fastest testers on the team at 210+ pounds. He will return to the field at safety for Texas. Second, prior to the re-injuring of the hammy, he was going to compete at punt and kick off return. Third, he came to Texas with football in mind and nothing has changed in that regard. It's all about getting back to 100%, and not pushing it to get back this time. He took a week off after baseball concluded and went right back into football conditioning. In retrospect, probably should have given it 2-3 weeks. But that is an athlete trying to get ready to be on the field for football season. Lesson learned. 31 Quote
cdibbs Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thoughts on his baseball future? Does he redshirt this year and dedicate his time solely to football next year? Might be the smart play if football is the priority. Quote

Texas fan in Georgia Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I just hope the guy doesn’t end up like Jalon Catalon. Both played with reckless abandonment but catalon could never stay healthy. Hopefully it’s a different story with Williams 1 Quote

He has oatmeal cream pies watching coffee and football each morning. Quote
Hashtag Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If he’s going to have habitual hammy issues and switching between sports and not having enough rest time is going to be an issue he’s going to have to choose a sport imo. 1 Quote

GDI Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago With the state of college sports today I don’t think it’s smart to have a two sport athlete on your team. 1 Quote

NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 11 minutes ago Posted 11 minutes ago He was already behind missing spring ball and now he’s WAAAY behind missing most of fall camp. I think it’s going to be time to pick a sport sooner rather than later. Quote
