Texas can put a competitive product on the field, but it's going to take Sark calling the game and changing the way he calls/manages a game to play off of the defense and special teams. It won't be sexy, but something has to give. I don’t think we gonna see much different than what we’ve seen. 3-4 games is a pretty good gauge of what you are as a team. Unless Arch makes monumental steps forward, we’re gonna take a step back this year. 2 Quote
Oskies1279 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I don't get why sark doesnt just follow notre dames style like last year and use manning how they used Riley Leonard? They were a run first team and he can take the hits. Quote

Chioubaccalovin Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago If it’s not broken… then it wouldn’t need to be fixed. Nothings beyond repair… but you might have to replace a few parts. Quote
Judd_Irby Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Should we start standing in line to get tickets for the Houston Bowl? Quote

horns96 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago @Jeff Howe - while it was an ugly game on a hot afternoon in front of a cranky stadium, I think we should at least acknowledge that we rushed for 226 yards? I'm also excited about James Simon. Quote

We continually failed running in short yardage situations. Looking at total rushing stats trying to gain any glimmer of hope from one of the worst offensive performances since Arkansas 2021. I didnt want to believe that but it looks like it is true. This was something I noticed last year and was the one thing I was worried about regarding Arch coming into the year. So many Texas fans took that skill that Quinn displayed effortlessly for granted and just assumed we'd keep that and add Arch's deep ball & mobility. 1 Quote

AusMOJO Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I forgot to ask, but did Collin Simmons play in this one? Was I blind and didn't see him out there? Never heard his name called and he has no stats? Quote

Arch's accuracy NEEDS to get better. He had time and receivers were open. Hopefully next week we see some improvement. That's a recurring theme with him. Wide open receivers that he can't hit and easy throws that he can't make. Quote

It is inexcusable that Flood couldn’t have a better succession plan for his OL after losing so many key starters. Surely Sark has given him a ton of leeway. It’s inexcusable that Sark allowed himself to rely on so many young receivers this year. It’s inexcusable that Milwee’s QBs have shown zero development. There’s a hell of a lot of accountability on defense. So clearly this is a Sark problem. He needs to take a long look in the mirror. Yeah, I don't know if you needed to bring in OL help from the portal, but recruiting wise hasn't been that great outside of a few guys. Just developmental guys. I know Gerry says you can't stack the OL room like you used to because of NIL but I do think Flood could've done a better job there. I think I said it here or somewhere else, that we'll see what Flood made of this year as an OL coach because it's practically a brand new OL, first time he's had to do that in several years. So far, they're probably above average at best? The only bright spot has been Goosby. I agree with WR, I also mentioned here or somewhere else, that we would see what Sark's recruited WR's would look like and again, outside of Livingstone, pretty disappointing so far. Now not all their fault but still. I've no idea what Sark is seeing in practice and on film, that he keeps doing the same thing over and over again. He's almost regressed to 21/22 playcalling. Quote
