Yes, we have a talented team with potential, and will get better, but we are not contenders this season. New leaders must emerge and players must further develop. Our line play has much to gain. We have some solid pieces to build on for sure. Arch Manning showed us something today. Let’s recalibrate and improve in all phases. We will be much better as the year progresses. It is what it is. We have flaws that were masked the last two years in close victories. They are exposed this year - it’s not rebuilding 1 1 Quote

texcoyote15 Posted October 5 Posted October 5 We have 9 sacks in 5 games. I really thought we would have guys get to the QB this year. 2 Quote

OL is what it is, we saw three games of this and should have known. In some fairness to the DL we often had them playing as if Lagway had two functioning legs and might take off on a long scramble at any minute. 1 Quote

DLev Posted October 5 Posted October 5 4 hours ago, TexasMDcoach said: Where am I wrong? Rebuilding means you have young players getting experience to be better the next year. This OL is old and terrible. That’s not rebuilding. No one in the RB room is looking like a difference maker regardless of age. Young WR aren’t getting reps or stepping up. So that’s not rebuilding. Arch is a third year player in the program. 2 Quote
A-10HORN Posted October 5 Posted October 5 4 hours ago, AusMOJO said: You should not be in year 5 of your tenure doing rebuilding years, that is a cop out. Sark didn't utilize the portal well at all. He needed RB, OL and WR help. He went and got, Mosley who has barely contributed. Endries who they've barely used. Defensively, we returned a lot and they just got whooped. By Lagway, who is not a good QB. There is no such thing as rebuilding years anymore. This is just poor evaluations/development by this staff and complete misses in the portal. One thing is certain, the guy who started the Kyle Flood has to go thread and go dragged for it, needs to be apologized to. Absolutely Quote

harveycmd Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Given that Texas is the best football state in the US, and given that we have only won a single title in the last 55 years, can't say we have done much. 1 1 Quote

whereiend Posted October 5 Posted October 5 We need a front office that can play moneyball. we blew our NIL budget on retaining a bunch of guys that had proven nothing, and it turns out they aren't great. Quote

Bonaparte Posted October 5 Posted October 5 5 hours ago, TexasMDcoach said: This is a rebuilding year The offensive line, recruited and coached for four years under Sarkisian, is regressing, playing soft and undisciplined football. Play-calling lacks creativity and needs immediate improvement. Texas has recruited too highly to be this poorly developed and undisciplined. This reflects poor coaching, particularly across the entire offensive side of the ball. Rebuilding year or not, Texas is likely a 5-7 win team, despite a roster too talented for such mediocre results. Sark is facing a monumental fail at his current pace. 1 Quote
