Freshman WR Michael Terry III received reps at running back on Tuesday during practice.

There had been whispers of Terry receiving some looks from the running back room late last week after getting the bump from the scout team to the actual practice squad for the offense and sure enough, that comes to fruition early this week.

With Jerrick Gibson leaving the team and Rickey Stewart awol, an additional, capable body has entered the fold for Chad Scott and his room.

I do not expect to see a lot of Michael Terry III on the field, yet. Through six games, Terry only has six snaps which all came against Sam Houston State. However, there is a plan to keep him involved with hopes of growing his role on the Longhorns as the season continues.

I would assume this changes RB recruiting for HS school this year beside only taking Cooper, along with looking in the portal. Still shocked on the Ricky Stewart deal I don’t see that playing out well for his time at Texas

I know people like to praise Coach Choice but his RB recruits  have not been great. Hope that changes moving forward but man that sucks. Are we expecting Terry to contribute or is this just a depth move?

I think an established portal running back would be VERY smart if one can be had. Tre can’t do it all by himself, CJ can’t even stay healthy one full season and nobody else seems ready to be consistent game in and out.

I think they hope that Simon can contribute more. But I said in another post that Coach Choice didn't really recruit all that well and that it was mistake we didn't look in the portal for another RB to pair with Wisner. Considering at the time, we weren't sure if Baxter was even going to be ready to go until half way through the season.

Strange, because Coach choice was one of the teams best recruiters.

I wonder how Terry feels about being shifted to RB when we recruited him at WR because he didnt want to be an RB.  I  believe we won over Oregon because they wanted him to be a RB.

Portal, portal, portal.  Get help ASAP without having to pay them for the years they are developing.
