    The SEC refs call some phantom holds but they consistently call them on both teams. Texas is going to have to get used to how they are being officiated in the new league. Arms outside the body on run plays are almost automatic holding calls whether a player is actually held or not. Texas Tech would have literally had 25 holding calls a game back in the day IMO.

    There's constructive or healthy criticism and there's tearing people down. I never want to be the guy who tears people down, not when they're out there doing exactly what Jay says, which is giving it up for the Horns. We try as hard as we can to do that ourselves as reporters and we hope members of the community do the same.

    Just FYI - Gerry is on the road today. Long drive to the Southeast on I-10 but he is making calls and will check in periodically. Just wanted to let y'all know. If he gets anything pressing, he will post it.

    As much as anything, this is where I come out. In the SEC, QBs are going to have to perform with a dirty pocket. Quinn did not, not against OU or Georgia. But he did against Michigan. So which one is the real Quinn? Probably somewhere in the middle. Another important role of the QB is to not make bad situations worse. I felt like Quinn did not do a good job of that either. In all, there's blame to go around everywhere, including Kelvin Banks, including Quinn Ewers, including Sark. The offense did NOT execute well. That must change if Texas wants to make the CFP.

    Hmm. Marginally agree. Sark definitely wasn't perfect. But his players let him down some IMO.

    There are different types of leaders. Like you, I’d like to see more rallying of the troops, more overt fire displayed. But that’s not the only way to lead.
