    Always a fair question. But Sark and Brandon Harris don’t seem to panic, no matter the situation. Not in high school recruiting and not in the portal.

    Hi John, First of all, we were not tracking either Guervil or Henderson heavily yesterday because 24 hours earlier we knew they were going elsewhere and reported as much. So we weren’t all in on covering the final throes of those recruitments. To your point, we probably should have had a thread for the day regardless. We’ll do that better this week, starting with Okpala today. 10am. Thanks, Bobby

    I don’t have any real problem with where Texas sits right now. Texas has lost exactly one recruit where the Horns’ NIL offer matched or exceeded someone else’s and that was to a home-state team (Crowell). Texas does not have unlimited NIL. Neither do other teams, though some are acting like it. Let me ask you all this: are any of the players left on the board worth 1/15th of your entire roster salary cap? Maybe there might be but that number is few and far between. Today alone, Henderson and Guervil just went for those amounts.

    Good post and thought process. I think it can hurt some, but not overwhelmingly so.

    Texas has traditionally stood its ground on offers. That being said, they’ve sweetened the pot on a couple and still come up short. That’s the way it is. I think some of it has to do with how much they like the players currently on the roster as they look to 2026. There are pseudo limits now.

    We’re trying to get more intel. Nothing would surprise me if Florida or whoever upped the ante. Not the first time it has happened with a DT in this cycle.

    Couple of reasons for that. One of them is that he’s so good. Another is hanging around the rim on Michigan recruits when their head coach isn’t exactly on firm footing is probably smart.

    I’m fine with the bottom line approach. But Texas would very much be willing to go to five or even six at the position.
