That’s only if you fly. Since Texas bussed over they have more flexibility to start late.

And the other 305 division 1 teams don’t win the title. Would you say the odds are in our favor? Gus won 2 titles in 28 years at a time where only about 10 schools gave a damn about baseball. If the greatest coach in program history averages a title every 14 years it’s safe to say it’s a lot easier to talk about winning a title than doing it.

You sound really fun at parties. I love how openly people talk about national titles around here, in all sports, like it is some easy thing to do.

What about the trend prior to the weekend when we did it a bunch against good teams? Everyone loves to focus on the 3-4 bullpen blowups while ignoring the other 27 wins where the bullpen did their job. Including the entire OU series, the entire South Caroline series and the final two games against Auburn and Ole Miss.

Sounds like they were ready then? They led 6-4 in the 6th inning. They didn’t lose because they didn’t “compete” enough.

Our Friday night starter gave up 5 runs and the defense had 2 key miscues that led directly to two runs. Last night was not 100% on the bullpen. Everyone just focuses on the last thing to happen in a game and not what built up to it.

A&M has the best lineup in the SEC. You would certainly trade our lineup for theirs in a heartbeat. They lead the league in every offensive category. They might have a bottom 4 pitching staff in the league, which is why their postseason stay might be short lived. Y'all feel free to jump ship over 3-4 bullpen meltdowns out of 30+ games. No one ever talks about the final games at Auburn, or the OU series, or the South Carolina series where the bullpen saved our ass.

There is no way you can watch this game unfold and blame bullpen walks as the culprit.

Are we watching the same game? A&M scorched 3 hits in their first 4 batters and the only walk was a 10 pitch AB where the guy fouled off a million pitches.

The bullpen single handily won the series last weekend and the last two games against OU. We barely hit in any of those games. Winter 0.00 ERA Leffew 1.59 ERA Crossland 1.32 ERA Cozart 2.08 ERA Walker 2.61 ERA You can not sit here and say with a straight face that we don’t have a single dependable guy. The games the last month have shown that is not the case at all.

The same guys who won us games the previous 3 weekends? It’s college baseball. Bullpens are going to fickle. Leffew and Crossland have ERA’s under 2.00 heading into tonight. Are they not allowed a bad night?

You’ve certainly never been in a college baseball locker room if you think ripping an assistant coach and players after game 1 of a series is a smart decision. You know who did that a lot? The previous coach here who is no longer employed because he had no friends.

Sounds like a great way to lose a coach and a team in mid April of a season where you are 9-4 in the SEC.

None of his three years at A&M did they hit above .300 as a team. His 2023 team hit .270 which is horrible. Schloss is also very involved in the offense so it’s funny to see finger pointing at his assistants.

We are going to lose multiple series this year. It’s just going to happen. This league is too tough. We lost 2 series last year and still won 22 games lol.

You are saying this based off a large, two game sample size where we are 1-1?

Huh? We are 3-2 in one run games, with both losses being games where we had multi-run leads in the 9th. That isn’t lucky at all. Could be argued it’s actually the opposite.

We swept OU. Beat Auburn 2 out of 3 on the road. Are we just naming random results from the season? I guess it’s not surprising you harp on the lowest points while ignoring the really high ones in a sport that has 55+ data points.

We are going to lose at least 8-10 more games even if this is a GREAT year and several will be to teams who don’t belong on the field with us. It’s baseball. Look around the league and every team has been through a “tough stretch”, and I put tough stretch in air quotes because we hadn’t even lost back to back games all year.

They have been playing better since the coach firing and should have took 2 of 3 from Arkansas. They have SEC caliber players. It happens.

They aren’t signing a dude who played on the FG team at SMU to come compete to be the first or second dude off the bench at Texas. He is another warm body who will allow the second and third teams to scrimmage in the fall and get some work on scout team. Kind of like Velton Gardner a few years ago. You are reading way too much into this.
