  1. Coaches are required to go on gameday when their school is hosting. Everyone loved all the shirts and catchphrases a week ago. If coaches had as many knee jerk reactions as message board fans, they would lose their locker room by week 3. You don’t overhaul who you are because you lost to the #5 team in the country who won 2 of the last 3 national titles.
  2. NFL teams aren’t message board fans. They don’t live and die on every play and single game performances. They evaluate and set their draft boards on an entire body of work. At least the smart franchises do.
  3. He didn’t even play against Texas Tech in 2022.
  4. I think it says a lot that on a team with plenty of veteran talent, Tre Johnson was brought to media days.
  5. The change for basketball is long overdue. Teams who missed the tournament or lost early were at an advantage in the portal getting to host guys while a lot of other teams were still playing.
  6. Considering the flight from Eugene to DFW is almost 4 hours, I’m assuming he will be leaving gameday early or be doing it from Dallas.
  7. “Big get” and “leaving for more guaranteed playing time” aren’t usually said together. There is a reason he isn’t playing on a Bama defense that isn’t really that good.
  8. We think Gerry asked Sark if he brought his Lawn Mower 5.0 on the road with him?
  9. Considering MSU went 1 for 3 on third down on their opening drive, I’m going to say this stat is false.
  10. There was a 3 possession stretch in the first half where Texas barely held the ball for over 5 minutes. The offense shares the blame in the time of possession argument.
  11. MSU ran the ball 50 times. The veer and shoot is going to give you some advantages in the run game due to alignment/splits. The longest run of the game was 17 yards and they averaged under 2 yards per carry in the second half. The run defense will be fine. Again, it took 50 carries to get 150 yards.
  12. Sam Houston State played their first full FBS schedule last year. In Conference USA. It’s why Texas added them. Wouldn’t have done it if they were FCS.
  13. At Ohio State San Jose State UTEP Sam Houston State Next year is set.
  14. You are seeing more and more UT graduates having to send their money to OSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc. every year because their children can’t get in. It sucks to see, but I guess they have to draw the line somewhere. Those who truly want to be at Texas will do the CAP program or go to Austin community college for a couple semesters if they can’t get in out of high school.
  15. CSU played Northern Colorado last week, a FCS school that went 0-11 last year, and won by 21. CSU is below UTSA in pretty much every meaningful ranking/power rating (FPI, SP+, etc) It’s not some huge gap but UTSA has a few more individual good players than CSU. Traylor also coaches circles around Jay Norvell. A 52 point margin would be pretty surprising this week.
  16. I still think UTSA is better than Colorado State overall, but they are weak in the wrong places (QB, WR, OL, DB). Another concerning thing for UTSA is they are a tempo team. Their only shot at hanging in Saturday is to slow things down to a crawl and pray Texas turns the ball over a bunch. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Traylor sits all his banged up guys and just starts looking ahead to conference play.
  17. They subbed out the first team LB’s the last few Michigan drives, which were 13 and 8 plays. So 21 total plays in garbage time. Actually 22 plays if you include the 1-play drive that ended in an INT in the 4th quarter.
  18. OU played maybe the worst FBS team in the country and Arkansas played a FCS team who went 1-7 in the SWAC.
  19. You just have to ignore the act from that poster. It’s old but whatever.
  20. "I think that’s why we haven’t reached the grand pinnacle. Has to mean more. State on your chest family on your back." If you legitimately think this, it's not worth engaging in further discussion because that's called delusion. I guess if CJ Baxter had been from Texas, he wouldn't have fumbled in the playoff because it would have meant more to him, and we would be national champs, according to your logic.
  21. LOL This conversation isn't worth it.
  22. If you've been paying attention, this hasn't been a thing in about 10 years. The best from Florida, California and Louisiana have chosen to play for Texas in recent cycles. Is that okay with you?
  23. Increases the need for Aidan Anding.
