  1. It’s going to be tough to judge Clemson because their toughest game in ACC play is home against SMU. They play at South Carolina to end the year so good chance they are 10-1 or 9-2 heading into that game. Notre Dame has the run game to hang with anyone but that defense lost some key dudes from last year and CJ Carr is sure to go through some growing pains. The A&M game at home is now a must win for their season basically. They may not play another ranked team after that.
  2. We get it dude, whatever take paints Steve Sarkisian in the most negative light is the one you are going to push. You also said this before the game, so which is it?
  3. Not the time to give a guy his first college action coming off an Achilles tear, or trot out a guy with chronic fumbling issues. I'm sure they will get plenty of carries the next 3 weeks.
  4. This is 2025. Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers aren't going to AJ Milwee for extended footwork and release point help. They have highly compensated personal QB coaches who they work with all year. That's not to say Milwee and Sark can't help with it or have discussions about it, but it's like blaming Juan Soto's baseball swing on the Mets hitting coach.
  5. You have shown zero offensive pulse all game. You are going to need to score a TD at some point. You are at the one foot line. All a FG does is require you drive down again and score a TD, which looked like a daunting task up to that point. You do not kick a FG from the 1 foot line in that situation. Ever. It is just flat wrong to adjust otherwise. It lowers your win probability in every way, making a one possession game, a one possession game.
  6. Pretending a FG was the right call when it is 4th and ONE FOOT and you are down 7-0 isn’t serious. It would be like getting a 11 in blackjack with the dealer showing a 16 and choosing to stand.
  7. We lose 14-9 if we kick 3 times in FG range. Complain about whatever you want but going for it on 4th and 1 from the 1 foot line when an all a FG does is require you to score a TD later is dumb. Every other coach would have gone for it considering what Texas had shown offensively up to that point.
  8. I don’t think this stat is correct. The first Arch QB sneak was converted on 4th and 1. And Wisner also had a few first down runs on 2nd and 3rd and 2 or less.
  9. He probably isn’t giving up playcalling at all, and he definitely isn’t giving it up in the middle of a damn season. It’s wasted breath. Let’s revisit in December or January.
  10. Wait, you wanted us to kick a FG from the 1 yard line down 7-0 when we hadn’t shown an offensive pulse all day? That is a loser 1980 mindset and goes against any type of game theory/analytics.
  11. Good sign as a program when all 4 of the lowest-ranked rooms still have surefire NFL guys in them.
  12. Fair. I'm just saying that when you have 11 straight road wins, a conference title, wins over Saban and Dabo, multiple playoff wins, blowout wins over rivals, and back-to-back top 4 finishes, you have quite a few counterpoints compared to guys like Franklin, Lanning, etc.
  13. James Franklin - can’t win big games Ryan Day - can’t win big games, except against James Franklin Was the narrative up until last January
  14. He's won plenty of 'big' games, whether it be early season, rivalry, conference championship, or playoff, that if he had lost, he would have been crucified by his own fanbase. Are there any active coaches with wins against both Day and Kirby? If Sark wins Saturday, he'll have wins against Saban, Dabo and Day the last 2 years. 3 years ago, it was he couldn't win on the road, then it was he couldn't beat ranked teams, then it was he couldn't win a conference title, now it's evolved into he can't beat the top 2 teams in the sport. If he wins this one, then everyone will just turn their attention to how he can't be Georgia. Then if he beats Georgia, it will be that he can't win a national championship. Then if he wins a national championship, it will be he can't beat quality teams by double digits or something silly. There will always be a next roadblock people focus on. I wouldn't get caught up in narratives or reputation. That is for insecure rival fans and talking heads. Just like every narrative around Ryan Day up until 7 months ago.
  15. Important weekend to decide if you will lay the 35+ points Vegas will be giving Texas in a few weeks against Sam Houston State.
  16. Especially when he had this happen a few months earlier https://www.si.com/college/alabama/bamacentral/alabama-defensive-coordinator-pete-golding-arrested-for-dui
  17. I have a suspicion this is going to end up being an upgrade overall, and not because of Helm vs Endries, but because we have depth in the room (Washington, Townsend, Shannon) to provide us more than what Juan Davis offered us as TE2 last year, which was....not much.
  18. The guy Ohio State took from Rice that was considered one of the best in the portal looks like he isn’t even going to win a starting job. It is a tough way to make a living. Might be the hardest position to recruit in the portal.
  19. Any team that loses its swing tackle in the first week of camp is going to be concerned about their depth. That isn't something you plan for all offseason.
  20. Can we, like, I don't know....see a game played first? He is one of the best OL coaches in the country, was employed by Nick Saban for multiple years, coached in the NFL, is putting guys in the NFL at a rate we haven't seen in almost 2 decades and is recruiting fine. He messed up by not adding another tackle body in the 2023 or 2024 classes. He ain't perfect and for all we know, that choice was made above his pay grade. OL is the hardest position for services to evaluate and rank (hi, 3-star Trevor Goosby and Cam Williams, meet 4-star Payton Kirkland) and is also on the longest developmental timeline. This isn't even a 'trust the coaches' post. It's just stupid to see the results he has had after wandering through the O-Line desert for almost 15 years and saying stuff like the development "simply has not been good enough" on August 18th, coming off a season where they were runner-up for the Joe Moore Award.
  21. Imagine how weak the penalties will be on the NIL cap stuff if this is the punishment for openly cheating during a game.
  22. A 10-2 Texas with a win at Ohio State and at one of Florida/Georgia is in the playoff 100% of the time. So yes, I’ll take a guaranteed playoff spot if offered that today.
  23. The way things are trending now with some members of the class, it is going to be picked apart pretty good in the draft. Hell, I thought the 2025 class was too full and it ended up working itself out.
