  1. Yes sir I’m concerned with depth in several areas. But yeah Flores’ glove is key.
  2. Yep plenty to work on. Not chasing at the plate is one place to start. But there’s time. I fully expect it to be an up and down season. We saw some youth last night. The lack of depth is a concern too. But it does help a lot knowing there’s a great staff in place.
  3. Yeah he looks good so far. Good command.
  4. Low hanging fruit. She might be right but it’s easy to point out the unknown.
  5. Yeah that was eye opening. I think Schloss talking about the lack of depth showed one of his big concerns. With that I wonder if he holds back some of the freshman or younger arms in terms of workload until conference play.
  6. For those who don’t follow D1 Baseball Schloss did an interview there which was posted today.
  7. Good stuff guys enjoyed that. I agree with Jeff in terms of rankings. There’s so many unknowns and question marks for me it’s better to see how it goes. I thought it was interesting that in the alumni game Schloss and Weiner threw Cody Howard for I think 80 pitches. That is telling what they hope they can get out of him. He could be important if he continues to improve. He threw a lot of balls but many were just barely missing the zone. The short sample we saw from Moffit and Mercer were impressive to me too. Mercer’s health is a concern but I can see him in a closer role as long as he stays healthy.
  8. Lol no. You’re it going to get any disagreement from me that Texas basketball is not on par with the program as a whole.
  9. Yeah I agree definitely not in basketball.
  10. Texas is a blue blood program as a whole. That’s what I was referring to.
  11. What’s your drink? This can be whatever you like to drink. I go through phases but currently I enjoy a Papa’s Pillar dark rum and iced tea. A good old fashioned is hard to pass up.
  12. Born and raised in and around Austin proper. I grew up being taught how to throw hook ‘em. My grandfather worked for UT in the maintenance department. I can remember going to work with him in the late 70’s early 80’s and getting a campus tour. I’ve bled burnt orange my entire life.
  13. Texas has always been a “what have you done for me lately” environment along with most other blue bloods. Barnes’ work/success became ho hum. That and he got “comfortable” in his position and personal I believe he felt like he’d done enough to be respected and that doesn’t work. Getting let go or forced out sometimes can reignite the fire.
  14. Good stuff! 🤘Really grounded family. When you consider this it’s not hard to think Arch will be here for a while.
  15. He’s another respected offensive mind in the room. Sark knows.
  16. ESPN released their scheduled coverage of Texas Baseball this season. https://texaslonghorns.com/news/2025/2/6/espn-unveils-tv-broadcast-schedule-for-no-19-baseball.aspx
  17. Blake do you know anything about Louisville, Ole Miss or Ok St this season? Obviously Ok St is ranked top 20 and their coach likes to hear himself talk but that’s about all I know.
  18. It’s going to be on FloSports TV. I believe all the games for the 3 day series will be on Flo.
  19. I agree. While it’s still early and we only got a small sample of what’s to come at least some of the question marks I had for the pitching staff were answered. Riojas, Moffett and Mercer were most impressive to me. Mercer looks to be a solid closer.
  20. He looks solid so far. He could be big for us.
  21. Duplantier slinging it this year that’s different
