    Texas is a blue blood program as a whole. That’s what I was referring to.

    What’s your drink? This can be whatever you like to drink. I go through phases but currently I enjoy a Papa’s Pillar dark rum and iced tea. A good old fashioned is hard to pass up.

    Born and raised in and around Austin proper. I grew up being taught how to throw hook ‘em. My grandfather worked for UT in the maintenance department. I can remember going to work with him in the late 70’s early 80’s and getting a campus tour. I’ve bled burnt orange my entire life.

    Texas has always been a “what have you done for me lately” environment along with most other blue bloods. Barnes’ work/success became ho hum. That and he got “comfortable” in his position and personal I believe he felt like he’d done enough to be respected and that doesn’t work. Getting let go or forced out sometimes can reignite the fire.

    Blake do you know anything about Louisville, Ole Miss or Ok St this season? Obviously Ok St is ranked top 20 and their coach likes to hear himself talk but that’s about all I know.

    I agree. While it’s still early and we only got a small sample of what’s to come at least some of the question marks I had for the pitching staff were answered. Riojas, Moffett and Mercer were most impressive to me. Mercer looks to be a solid closer.

    @Jeff Howe welcome sir! I’ve been listening to sports talk radio in Austin since it started in the early 90’s with Bill Schoenig. You were one of the best I heard! Looking forward to seeing you getting more involved in the videos sharing your thoughts.

    Lots of excitement no doubt with the new staff but also a lot of questions with this team on the mound. I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes for sure. I don’t expect a smooth start to the season but with that schedule hopefully they can figure out a rotation by conference play.

    None bigger than 4th and 13 for me. But I did and still enjoy beating all 3 rivals- essentially Aggie and boomer.
