I saw a stat where we gave up 23 sacks last year in a full season and have already given up 24 through 8 games? How is it we fired PK (who wasn't terrible in his own right) so Sark could focus on the O and this is the product we get? He apparently upgraded the talent and yet it's worse across the board. Sounds like Sark isn't as great as he thinks he is or what...who knows. Anyone expecting changes is going to be seriously disappointed. He truly believes his scheme is great and that it should be run how he wants it. Even when he does things that work, he goes straight back to what doesn't. It's the most baffling stuff you'll ever see. There is no fix for this during the season and there will be no fix for it in the off season. If Sark won't recognize it himself then it's never going to matter who points it out because he dismisses it all the time. Plus he's said numerous times he won't give it up and that's why he was brought to Texas.

Gilmer almost blew that. Gave up a big kickoff return to their 30 but bowed up and forced the 4th down stop to end the game. Still think Carthage likely coasts to another state title again. Also, I still don't understand why Camara is playing TE or whatever it is he's doing. He needs the reps at T, imo.

Pretty sure this has been an issue almost the entirety of Sark's tenure at Texas.

I think it's having to think about too many things on the OL. There's so many different looks they have to be ready for and I'm almost certain it falls back onto Sark's scheme and it being overly complicated. I think I heard Daniel Cruz mention something about it, who's now at NC State. No idea if there is something to that, just what I remember hearing.

But can he play OL? Just kidding....Great pick up for Texas.

I think it's a good strategy, as long as you get the right pick. Hoover doesn't seem like such a great pick for Cignetti. Plus I think Sark said he'd much prefer to develop the "premium positions" like LT, Edge, QB, etc. We'll see this year. The top teams this year seem to have transfer QB's for the most part. We'll see what that final 4 looks like again.

I'd love nothing more than to beat LSU at home.

I think we get a mulligan on the OU game because of it being a rivalry game but who knows.

The Roberts kid they have already is really good. you'd have to expect that Hardy won't be himself for the Texas game but still be a threat.

But to me, they could just change how they format the 12 teams instead of adding another 12 teams. Because you're then adding a bunch of not very good teams to the playoff race. I think 12 is a good spot. Do some tweaking with the time in between the end of regular season, conference title games and the playoffs. Rework the bowl game system. Seems like just adding 12 more teams to the playoffs is the easy way out for the "big brains"

I do agree with some of what you say because the issues were obvious before and people were saying "a win is a win" until you dropped two games in a row to unranked teams and almost did it again in similar fashion. I'm enjoying the win but similar issues are still there and I doubt they get fixed during the season. The changes that need to happen will be done in the off-season. For right now, you can only hope that we stop giving up points where we shouldn't. I'm still impressed this D held Ole Miss O to only 20 points. Chambliss and his WR's made some good plays. Thought coverage was good. Arch played above average, imo. Made some plays, made some boneheaded decisions but he let it rip, for the most part. Raleek was going off and Terry was a good compliment to him. Not sure if Coleman will be out but if he is him and Goosby being out will force Sark's hand on how he calls the Offense, imo. Anyway, great to get a win. Let's go beat those cowbells.

I think Shane Beamer is going to end up saving his job. TCU is likely to open, too. Personally I think Riley is going to jump at the chance to head back to the big 12. Only reason he went to USC was because they were still in the pac 12. When he got there they then decided to head to the big 10 and he didn't really have a choice but to stay.
