  1. Wish Schloss would sit Borba for a weekend and give someone else a chance.
  2. Unreal. Maybe these guys were mesmerized by the draft today and just didn't get ready to play.
  3. Yeah, Riojas can't throw a strike unless he puts it right in the middle. Not looking good.
  4. Texas hitters making this less than mediocre pitcher look like a world beater.
  5. Why in the world did the Patriots draft Behren Morton? There's a joke to be made in connection with their off field issues, but it's better left unsaid.
  6. I'd argue the NFL is more conducive to a run setting edge than CFB. It's probably his perceived lack of athleticism that's hurting him, but he should have some options as an UDFA.
  7. If Pavia isn't drafted, he plans to sue the NFL for failing to admit that a 26 year old mascot must be recognized.
  8. The Cincinnati Bearkats were one of the best teams in college football last season, but their opponents didn't realize it.
  9. This isn't really a Longhorn thing. It's all nuts. Just look at Singleton and Kilgore being drafted so late. There are scores of weird picks.
  10. That doesn't seem to matter in this draft, Jeff. It's truly mindboggling to watch this unfold.
  11. I agree with Gerry that high school recruiting is still the lifeblood of consistent college football programs, but just can't take silly recruiting drama seriously.
  12. I don't think so. Did Bailey have twice the production of Simmons? That and you must consider the effect of possible chemistry problems caused by money.
  13. Based on Schloss's comments about Cozart last week, I'm guessing he's still trying to stretch Cozart to get him ready for postseason, and he also thinks he can use him twice in a weekend regardless.
  14. This is true, but there are just outright bad evaluations of talent. Taking the likes of Golday and Trotter before Hill is crazy. Drafting Boerkhicher at 56 overall is pure malpractice. Those guys could have easily been drafted in third and fourth round.
  15. Many of these picks make you think that more than half of NFL teams draft with their eyes closed.
  16. I'm not saying get rid of Vic. I'm suggesting that he should adjust. Two Final Fours are great. That semi-final against UCLA was one of the worst games I've ever seen.
  17. Of course we understand that. It doesn't matter if it's only a topic for WCBB. That's the reality.
  18. She said "part" of it was family. The obvious key was she just didn't like playing for Vic. You can coach hard all day long, but these kids aren't going to understand that.
  19. They expect to have fun. Vic needs to think about his rock-em, sock-em style and adjust to new realities.
  20. I know most don't think this way, but I factor in NFL career and potential in Arch's case.
  21. I'd like other choices, but I'll take 4.
  22. Given that WCBB loses money, how can teams be stupid enough to pay 500k for a player? Who makes these decisions?
  23. I'll add that Freeman and Punch will be much better than Haugh this coming year. The media latches on to guys and refuses to admit the truth that actually plays out on the floor. Man for man, Texas is more talented than Florida. Johnson>Boogie, Goosby>Aberdeen, Freeman>Haugh, Punch>Condon, Matas>Chenyilu. That's five for five. We'll see if they can develop the chemistry to be a better team.
  24. I first thought that when watching Swain against Florida and Haugh. I didn't want to admit it because it seemed crazy given that Pippen is one of the most underrated players ever. But facts be facts. Swain is quicker and handles, passes and shoots better than Pippen; he's just not as powerful finishing and defending, which are big components obviously.
  25. You got that right, Gerry. Yaxel is already 23 and maxed out. He doesn't have the quickness or offensive skill to make it big in the NBA. I'd described Swain as a Scottie Pippin with more offensive skill, but not as much strength and power defensively.
