  1. I had the main broadcast and the alternate broadcast (on ESPNU) on two screens and switched listening back and forth (and sometimes had both on mute). TBH, I listened to the alternate broadcast more. Those ladies were mostly entertaining and not Tech homers. I thought their analysis and commentary was interesting, and they had all played on that stage when they were in college.
  2. Make you wonder if the NCAA did that because the UT softball team is playing for a natty on Wed and Thurs, with an if-necessary game on Friday. Sat-Mon for baseball avoids the potential conflict.
  3. I live in Buda, on the west side. My son has a house on the east side. I've lived in the general area for almost 60 years, but in Buda for only 10 years. Traffic is getting worse by the day/month/year. I never go into Austin unless I'm heading to a UT game or it's something that I can't do/attend without it.
  4. Orphey is a Muschamp guy. He got his start with Muschamp as a GA for him at S. Carolina.
  5. Welcome Hank! I've enjoyed your work at Horns247, so I'm happy you're here now. After Jeff left, I was put off by Kevin Ryan's comments and soured on Horns247 in general. I'm an old with subs to OTF, IT, and 247, but I primarily kept the 247 sub for the free access to other sites like CBS, Paramount+, and other team sites. I look forward to reading and watching your contributions at OTF! Cheers Hank!
  6. A while back, Steve Ross (former KVUE Austin Sports Director) opined on another site that the SEC will not agree to more than 16 for quite a while because ESPN doesn't want it. The reason is that, if the playoff expands to more than 16, CFP rules require the broadcast rights to be reopened and rebid. That is exactly the reason that the B1G won't agree to 16, unless there is a written commitment to expand beyond that in the following year(s). Fox wants part of the playoffs. ESPN will try to drag this out for a few years to get to the end of the contract, pushing only up to 16 and refusing expansion beyond that.
  7. Gideon also was a defensive quality control dude for Muschamp in 2014 at Florida (his last year as Florida HC) and a graduate assistant for Muschamp in 2015 at Auburn (Boom's only year as Auburn DC).
  8. I'm not defending another site, but that sort of title shorthand seems like a good idea on a busy board. Then a reader can determine/infer the tone (positive or negative info) of the thread before they click on it. On the surface, it seems helpful. What is dumb about it? What am I missing?
  9. Only reason I kept 247 is for the free Paramount +/CBS subs. I look over there occasionally and their network for other school sites.
  10. I'm a member of three Texas sites, and this is just pure bullshit. They all have their sources and all break stuff. The OTF team is solid and are either 1A or 1B in Texas coverage, imo.
  11. Where would Brad Spence be? He seems like a candidate for OLB in a 3-man front.
  12. In related news... Water is wet.
  13. Although I agree that he should focus on football until the season is over, he'd be dumb to eliminate baseball imo. His long term ticket may be baseball. If he maximizes his talent there, he'd make more $$ in MLB than he would as a safety in the NFL. JMO
  14. I'm with you, especially if Mateer initiated the payments. But if the two dudes sent him a payment request, they could have put the label on the request. I agree that it's pretty brain dead if they were stupid enough to label it that way.
  15. But they were in the stadium. Were they limited to 3800 tickets?
  16. Duke may not play their home games there, but Charlotte is hardly a neutral site.
  17. Did I miss the insider notes @Blake Munroe? I didn't find them on a search, but maybe that's on me.
  18. Yep. Seems pretty clear they were already on that path before it was publicly known Chamberlain was portalling. Maybe he was just another Pierce guy that needed to move on.
  19. ARod's gonna have to prove he can catch a ground ball on the regular before he gets the nod at 3B
  20. That article is from June 9. Not saying it still isn't the case, but that's a lifetime ago in recruiting.
  21. Yeah, but I was just trying to figure out who you think is the issue given that you stated Flores' and Gaspo's problems "point to bad hitting coaching". If Tulo is the hitting coach, are you saying he the problem? If not, which coach is doing the bad hitting coaching? For the record, I think Tulo is a huge asset. Glad he's here.
