You said unnecessary horizontal move that makes no sense. QE had no say in the trade. The trade was made because Miami thought they got more value with the trade.

ESPN is indicating that Mullens will likely get cut, so QE will have a good shot at being QB2.  This is a good spot for him with Cohen as his new coach.

It would be helpful if Quinn could stay injury free for a season.
 

Key Injuries by Timeline:

2020 (High School Junior): Missed six games following core-muscle surgery before returning to lead Southlake Carroll to the state championship game. 

2021 (Freshman at Ohio State: Redshirted.

2022 (Redshirt Freshman at Texas): Missed three games after suffering a sprained/injured left clavicle (collarbone) from a hit by Alabama's Dallas Turner. 

2023 (Redshirt Sophomore at Texas): Missed two games with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder sustained against Houston.

2024 (Redshirt Junior at Texas): Suffered an oblique strain (torn oblique) initially flagged or worsened around the Michigan and UTSA games, causing him to miss two full games and parts of another. He later dealt with a severe (Grade 3) ankle sprain in November against Kentucky, though he played through it. 

2025 (NFL - Miami Dolphins): Suffered a right knee/hip-drop style injury in the regular-season finale against the New England Patriots on January 4, 2026.

2026 (NFL - Miami Dolphins): More recently, he pulled a right groin muscle during an August 2026 preseason game against the Washington Commanders, forcing him to miss a preseason contest against the New York Giants before returning to practice.
