Was Livingstone forced out, did they take away his NIL offer, or did he make a big NIL ask that UT rejected?

CJ and Bobby both repost Parker’s twitter post, which says he was forced out. My initial impression is he made a big NIL ask and we didn’t want to give him a big NIL raise.

He maybe wouldn’t have had a big role next year, but probably yes over the next 3.

I’m sure it was discussed somewhere, but I can’t listen to every stream and couldn’t find the answer easily in the huge threads.

I've heard that it MIGHT also be about pecking order. At best Parker was going to be #4 in the room behind Coleman(hopefully), Wingo, and Mosely. Then what fi they bring in a sslot like Scudero, then he is 5 and we all knwo Sark really likes to trust about 4 WR at a time.

Not sure how you are seeing his post as him being forced out. I’d imagine not getting the money you think you deserve would be out of your control

i can ask for a raise, but whether or not my company gives it to me is out of my control. And I’d do the same as Parker if they said no. Doesn’t mean either are wrong or bad

According to my sources, he was offered a mid six figure deal. He wanted closer to a seven figure deal.

He was absolutely offered a very good sized deal and turned it down.

I know it's a different world, but if you would have offered me $500k to attend The University of Texas and play football and chase Arch Manning's leftovers, I pity the person getting between me and my pen and that contract.

No doubt.  Literally, one of the great wingman spots of all time.

Thank you for the clarification, Bobby.

Must be a lot of hungry agents out there.

Thanks for the clarity. He definitely wasn’t forced out—and frankly that seems like a pretty fair offer. He had a solid redshirt freshman season, but also left some meat on the bone. I get playing time may have been harder next year, but injuries always happen. It seems like a shortsighted move on his part, but it’s his decision to make. He easily could’ve been a starter his redshirt Junior year.

I hate that we are going to start having way less of these career Horns that have a chance to develop to be great and become fan favourites (but aren’t necessarily NFL players). I hope we start signing our recruits and NIL transfers to multi-year deals.

Was like that for me a long time ago with swimming and most schollys are partials back then. Not even full ride, let alone NIL, and everyone still fought to get the pen to paper haha.

This new age of college football is hard for me to wrap my head around. When I was at UT the football players got free room, meals, tuition and complimentary tickets from the university. There were probably some $100 handshakes from alums here and there, but nobody was negotiating a bigger payday with the school. I'm all for these guys getting some money for what they do, but walking away from a mid-six figure payday is just crazy imo. Doesn't a degree from the U. of Texas mean anything to them? I guess I'm getting old.

Parker made a very bad decision.  He is a good receiver but he will never be a difference maker imo.  If you want a million dollars a year you better be able to take over a game by yourself.

I am not sure I would have made it through school alive!

This NIL era is strange.  Turns down 500k to see if he can get more because him or his agent thinks he can get more?  What if he gets 300-400k?  I don’t see OU or Indiana giving him 500k or more.  Banking on himself I guess to see if he has a bigger year as more of a focal point of an offense.
