I’m sure they do, have a plan. Step one is presenting this to the SEC and getting their blessing. If something changes and he’s ineligible then we will adjust. The national talking heads have to draw comparisons for viewership and Texas is a big name with high expectations, so naturally they’ll use us to compare.

Hasn’t it been the case for a while that college basketball players actively workout for NBA teams and then decide if they want to go into draft or return to school?  What’s the difference between that and what Cole did?

Given Sarkisian's stance, if the SEC said no to Hutson, Texas would have removed him from the roster already. He never entered the draft as an underclassmen, signed a NFL contract, or competing on a NFL roster. He also, never left school and isn't transfering from another conference school.

For the life of me, I can’t understand why Kiffin / LSU are willing to die on this hill?  

The players in question are good (Dewuan Wright will be a back-up to Treydez Greene, Harris probably starts at DT, and Pyburn would be DE3), but none of them are difference makers and collectively they aren’t going to change LSU’s season-end record.

I just don’t get the brinksmanship by LSU here.  The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

That said, I have zero doubt a Baton Rouge yokel judge who has to face local voters would be willing to contort the law to create a ruling favorable to LSU.  I almost hope this happens just so we can get to the really juicy phase of this little drama - the reaction and wrath of the other 15 SEC schools.

Even if LSU gets court relief now, it is a hell of a gamble to play them. Risk vs Reward over 2 players really? They are gambling another Court won't overturn all this eventually. But if so your players will  get the rug pulled out by the SEC and the penalties they can impose . Not only on the coach, players , and  the University.

Then have read the CFP Committee may make teams that play these NFL guys ineligible for the playoffs etc. If that were to ever happen, I truly hope Texas and Hutson deal is definitely okay and worth it. Sneaky suspicion that LSU may back down no matter the ruling tomorrow. But that makes too much sense .

I like Kiffin as an offensive mind but boy does he create drama everywhere he goes. The guy loves drama. It's like he hasn't learned a thing in his career full of constant flops at blue bloods. Match that with the bs that goes on with LSU, you got yourselves one hell of a sh*t show.

I doubt they'll kick LSU out of the conference but they should 100% be severely punished.

I know @Bobby Burton disagrees, but as Andy Stapes said yesterday, trying to say Cole Hutson wasn't a pro because he didn't sign a contract is "a distinction without a difference".

I'm curious, do we know if Cole took any money for expenses during his invited tryouts?  

I genuinely curious - who exactly are the national folks sending out these messages about Hutson. I have not listened or watched much national stuff the last couple weeks, so I'm out of the loop.

He learned very well and received $91M. He is America today. Grift and move. Don’t worry, the lemmings will pay. Today, we idolize money before all so as long as you appeal to the money folks, you’re fine. Long gone are healthy shame and thoughtful consciousness. Facts and integrity be damned. Loyalty? How much for it? Sports is simply catching up to the rest of the country, exacerbated by the ruse of NIL. Money just needed a way in.
