We could lose 6 guys, including all 5 starters. Having an experienced, starting-caliber player in the room would be good for the team.

Totally agree. The second-team interior OL is a pretty big drop-off from the first team. We could use all the help we can get.

I don't think you know that for a fact.  The team could always use great players, but I bet Flood will have them ready to roll next year.

Goosby will be all-SEC caliber next year.  Baker, Agbo, Cruz, Robertson, and Neto will be ready to go as well.  edit- forgot Hutson and Cojoe!!

This! There’s a reason these guys aren’t hitting the portal. Development finally is a thing now at texas along the offensive line. Look for neto to be a stand out as well on the offensive line.

No, I don’t know that for a fact. But I do know that Hutson has looked average at best when he’s played this year and he has consistently graded out horribly. I’ve liked Conner Robertson when he’s come in for Majors, so not worried there. But the consistent knock against both Campbell and Neto (behind the scenes) has been mediocre pass pro. So, you’re right—I don’t know any more than you do what the line will look like next year. But I also know that Flood has been very hesitant to use the portal, so it’s extremely telling that he is bringing this guy in.

I think that is very fair, but this USC kid is a take in the portal no matter what your line looks like.

I guess everyone just assumes DJ Campbell is leaving but I’m not sure why

You can probably add Cam Williams to the list after his putrid performance last night

Texas needs to do whatever It takes. When you don’t run the ball at the 1, you better get a group that you do trust to be physical.

We’re definitely not as physical as we think from guard to guard. Majors and connor in particular aren’t people movers.

Flood must REALLY like him if this is true because i don’t remember one portal offensive lineman visiting us since the portals been a thing.

Seems like this young man is taking lots of visits.

Must be nice to be in such demand.

Could be helpful if it all worked out.

Any word on why he's leaving SC?

Let’s see what happens the next 5 days as to Texas OL entering the portal.

Flood didn’t have them ready this year. My vote for most overlooked as a problem. Doesn’t rotate, we regressed this year, etc.

There were plenty of games where the line took over. I think we had a very mediocre running back room this year when Baxter went down. No knock on Trey and Blue but Sark expected to run inside zone and RPO off of that. Very rarely did we get more than what was blocked for.

The interior OL was the biggest problem with the OL.  Hopefully the new wave of guys taking over will generate more push there.  It’s part of the reason Texas struggled on short yardage and goal line situations.

None of consequence. Those were against teams that it shouldn’t have been close enough to need an 8 minute drive to seal it. Too many close games for the supposed talent we had. Backs are almost only as good as the line that blocks for them. Early contact often for both backs this year. Maybe you were spoiled by Bijan and his miss making mastery.

An elite line adjusts to any scheme. I’m a huge Sark fan but other than recruiting, Floor underperformed the last 2 years. Hopefully he turns it up. We’ll need it.

LT: Goosby

LG: Pregnon

C : Hutson

RG: Campbell

RT: Williams

6th man: Baker

Lets manifest this

I do agree that Williams and Campbell need to come back, but if he does come back I hope we don't lose Baker. I also think while Hutson would be the shoe in for the starting position, don't discount Cruz. That kid has a mean streak in him and I think will push for playing time. Hutson has kind of stagnated a bit since his Fr season, whether due to injury or not, I'm not sure.

Personally if you bring in this Pregnon guy from USC, I think without a doubt that Neto Umeozulu will transfer.
