This is a rebuilding year, we just didn’t know it until now.

Yes, we have a talented team with potential, and will get better, but we are not contenders this season. New leaders must emerge and players must further develop. Our line play has much to gain. We have some solid pieces to build on  for sure.  Arch Manning showed us something today. 

Let’s recalibrate and improve in all phases. We will be much better as the year progresses. 

It is what it is.

Just a bad football team.  Burton was right that experience would be a problem early but he underestimated the starting point that they would be building from.  If only we could play SHSU a few more times.

Brother why are we in a rebuild in year 6 of Sark with the portal such a prominent deal these days. I think we need to all look at the elephant in the room.

Defensively, we returned a lot and they just got whooped. By Lagway, who is not a good QB. There is no such thing as rebuilding years anymore. This is just poor evaluations/development by this staff and complete misses in the portal. 

One thing is certain, the guy who started the Kyle Flood has to go thread and go dragged for it, needs to be apologized to.

100%. Where are all the defensive stars? Hill, Simmons, Taaffe? McDonald? Did anyone want to do anything today? Our O is dog water and our D is overrated. We all thought they were playing vanilla, no they're just not that good.

Only thing we had on offense was a little Arch and Livingstone. White chocolate got hurt. Defense was a no show. Worst defensive performance since the Washington Sugar Bowl.

If memory serves me correctly, didn't he get hurt trying to catch a pretty bad ball from Manning? But yeah, just overall this team was horrible. Shouldn't be surprising, even defensively they didn't look that great against the 3 cup cake teams. They just had enough to overpower/out talent them.

Yeah, Livingstone made a great catch and took a shot on the knee. 

Don't understand the run game approach. There wasn't one. 

Defensively, DL and LBs got whipped. When you make Napier look good, you have real problems. Something's gotta be going on behind the scenes.

Oh here comes the excuses LOL. So did Ohio State and how are they doing? So did a great many other teams, that is just an excuse.

With NIL and portal no excuse to not get OL and decent rb instead of our JAGS at those positions. Could name other positions but those 2 hurt us bad. Dallas Wilson is better than all our receivers right now. But hopefully lesson learned for next year. Evaluate better to start with.  8-4 is the ceiling and the floor well...😭

Let’s be honest,  no one was calling this a “rebuilding year” before the season started. Texas came into the year ranked #1 by multiple outlets, hyped across the media, and even the mods here were predicting 11 wins and a playoff berth. The narrative has changed only because the results haven’t matched the expectations.

We returned a ton of talent, had continuity at key positions, and added through the portal. In today’s era, especially with Texas resources, no team can realistically call itself “young” or “rebuilding.” As Gerry says, that excuse doesn’t hold up anymore.

This isn’t about rebuilding,  it’s about underperforming. The pieces are there. Now it’s on the staff and leaders to recalibrate, get tougher in the trenches, and clean up execution. Improvement can and should come, but let’s not rewrite history just to soften the reality.

Just saying where we are in year 5...no excuses, I hurt and am greatly disappointed.  We are not what we all hoped we were

You just lost to the worst coach in the SEC. There is no excuse for what happened today if your Sark. Every other team with eqaul talent that has played Florida absolutely dominated them. 

 

Billy showed you how incompetent he was by trying to let Texas comeback with that moronic time out with 1:50 left in the game.
