OTF Premium Steve Sarkisian on his future at Texas: 'I’m not going anywhere'

Is it possible that the entire Desmond Howard situation is really an effort to prevent Malakai Lee from flipping to Texas from Michigan? I wasn’t sure how actively Texas was still pursuing Lee. It may not be an ethical approach, but Michigan hasn’t exactly built a reputation on prioritizing ethics.

The biggest difference is for many Texas fans Texas sports and football are hobby or casual hobby for many SEC schools it is a way life. like literally they plan their life around it. It's all that matters to them....   And I actually respect that about them....

I've seen worse on other team sites. Plus you are talking about less than 0.5% of the fan base.   Other teams IMO have way more crazy fans. Amd that thread is tame compared to some others.

I am sorry year 5 and things are coming off the rails, that is not a positive sign. Then when you look back at what Sarkisian was hired to bring with him, he has underachieved in every season as the OC. Sarkisian the HC would have already fired Sarkisian the OC, or at least I would hope that he would, because Sarkisian the OC is not getting it done. At some point you have to realize the data is clear that this isn't the first season expectations were not met. If he course corrects and hires an OC while firing Banks, Flood, and Milwee then I will believe he's ready to fix the problems. If he sticks with the status quo, get used to the current season results because like aggy our first season in the SEC might be our best for quite some time.

And I haven't even mentioned that Texas is still one of the most penalized teams in college football.

Honestly if you would have me last year it would be easy but after this year who knows. If Sark is truly committed and all the distractions that led us here are gone or at least minimized I think we will be fine and in the hunt to win it all next year. If not... We might headed for a coaching search in two years or less. 

If half the stuff you’ve read on another site you post on is true do you think he can reel it all in?

Yes but sark the OC is affecting Sark the HC greatly. Especially on game day and in practice.

Definitely have concerns. Hoping for the best. But what I do know. The leadership aka Eltife will not sit bye and allow us to go back to the Strong or Herman era. They will move fast if they need to.

I don’t think Sark is as myopic as we like to think. I bet he knows what’s wrong with the team but can’t do anything about it while the calendar still says 2025.

For me, the Desmond Howard situation is likely a case of him getting intel he thought was worth running with and posting something on social media. Whether there was malicious intent there, to me, is irrelevant and it’s more of a matter of the validity of his source and whether he vetted it or not.

In my experience, these things aren’t as nuanced as someone might think. More often than not, someone simply ran with bad intel they thought was good.

Maybe? Brother we’re so undisciplined as a team and that falls on the HC. He also calls games as if he’s just the OC. He doesn’t see the game as a head coach. He neglects defense during games.
