  1. I would be shocked if any contributor sits out of the CFP for Ole Miss. If for some insane reason they’re excluded, I hope they all sit
  2. I think they will be more competitive than 2023 FSU with a backup QB. That team would have gotten curb stomped. As Bobby Bowden once said, it’s more about the Jimmies and the Joes. Ole Miss may be deficient in the X’s and O’s. But they still have the same Jimmies and Joes, and I’m sure they will be competitive. But again, bottom line all we have is conjecture. In 2023 we literally had evidence FSU didn’t look good and could barely move the ball against a mediocre Louisville team. It would have been much more controversial if FSU’s QB went down late in that Louisville game after a resounding win and we didn’t get the on field evidence of the dip in play
  3. The difference between Ole Miss and FSU is that FSU played a game without their QB and PROVED they were not as good without him. Right now, it’s purely an assumption that Ole Miss is worse without Kiffin. However valid that assumption may seem or prove, it’s still purely an assumption. Which is materially different than the FSU case
  4. Bama pretty much has to be a lock. As Josh Pate put it, Bama is the #1 seed in the SEC. If the CFP excludes the SEC #1 seed based on the outcomes of a conference championship game, the SEC would go nuclear. Add to that- it would be the second year in a row leaving pre-eminent SEC darling Bama out (after much moaning by the SEC last year). The SEC would go thermonuclear.
  5. so the Ole Miss logic. How about no? 😂 Do you have a great Sark replacement up your sleeve? Options seem a bit scarce to me
  6. Strongly agree. I would also argue that Florida has an AD problem. That’s what saved Texas. Florida needs a better AD. But I’ll happily wait for them to realize that until they fall off our schedule for a couple of years.
  7. These guys were fantastic, but Arch deserves an honorable mention at least. He was cookin in the second half. Can't we do 3 HMs in honor of taking down "#3" TAMU? lol
  8. Florida played 5 teams that are in contention for the CFP: @Miami vs Texas (true home game) @ TAMU vs UGA (neutral) @ Ole Miss These were all one score games in the 4th quarter. Which one doesn’t look like the other? Florida played 3 home SEC games and went 2-1, with a late loss to Tennessee after the team had already given up. Florida was a talented, capable team. Out of 5 good teams, they were due for one upset. We just happened to be the lucky team that caught them at the right time in the right conditions (no Muhammad, etc). Florida losing to USF also did not help. Florida truly was the most annoying team in CFB this year. Thanks Sun Belt Billy!
  9. Florida played a close 4 quarter game against every one of their SEC opponents that will be in the CFP (TAMU, UGA, Ole Miss). Difference for those 3 is none of them were in the swamp. Also didn’t help not having our starting CB
  10. Texas DID NOT FOLD. Penn State got hit in the mouth and folded. Clemson got hit in the mouth and folded. LSU got hit in the mouth and folded. Tonight, TAMU got hit in the mouth (FOR THE FIRST REAL TIME THIS SEASON) and folded. The list goes on and on. We were in literally every game this season. This team fought. We came up short in three games. They heard all the crap talk. We came up huge in three games (two of which were very special). This is what Texas’ defining feature should be. Through thick in thin, never fold. This team has not REALLY let me down one time in three years now. Almost all of our losses in that span have been to very good teams. Thankful for these guys and thankful for our coaching staff. They made 2025 a year to remember no matter what comes next.
  11. Aggies were talking Soooooo much leading up to this one. They were getting way too big for their britches and needed humbling. The water cooler would have been unbearable with a loss. Taught them a nice lesson and to be thankful for their charmin soft schedule
  12. Didn’t play Arkansas in 1999. Played them in 2000: lost to OU, lost to Ark, beat TAMU
  13. Oh, I had to think about this comment for a while to understand it. You switched your antecedents midway through the comment. He was 2-2 vs Arkansas in those 4 tries, but 7-5 cumulatively vs the three in those 4 seasons. The other 3 losses were to OU.
  14. It’s actually by design. They put the rivalries like BYU-Utah, etc earlier in the season to draw “game of the week” stuff. Those are the only big games they can count on. They’ve got to stretch them over weeks, not have them all on the same day. None of those can compete in intrigue with the rivalries in other conferences.
  15. Indiana, Vandy, GTech, BYU and Texas Tech all have something in common- good schedule luck. Cignetti’s a fine coach. He’s also had very good schedule luck. Texas Tech benefits from NIL, but also not playing Texas and OU every year anymore. Arkansas can get a great HC and invest more in NIL, but there’s nothing they can do about having one of the toughest SEC schedules for the next 4 years. With LSU Texas and Mizzou as their 3 permanent rivals, that’s arguably one of the toughest 3 permanent rivals in the SEC for a program trying to get off the mat.
  16. Oregon State and Washington State had seasons every now and then with 9-10 wins against much better competition than what they’ll be faced with now. Oregon State and Washington State are at worst good spring board jobs. IF (big IF) a coach ever got Ark to the CFP, that coach would be immediately poached by the next blue blood program that comes open
  17. Arkansas plays Texas, LSU and either Bama or UGA for the next four years. Even if they go 1-2 in those games, that’s pretty much a guaranteed 3+ loss season for the next 4 years unless a coach turns things around in a big way. Especially if LSU starts playing the way they can/should. Ark could get a coach like Cignetti, but that coach for sure won’t be blessed with the same schedule Cignetti’s been blessed with the last 2 years.
  18. Not really, they have manageable schedules and better histories than the other teams that are in their conference. They should be perennial contenders for the g6 spot in the playoffs next year on if either of them have close to a good coach
  19. I think Ark is the worst just because of expectations. If you go 0-3 vs Texas with under 10 wins in your first 3 years you’re likely a goner. Hell 0-2 even if the losses are bad enough
  20. Arkansas might be worse because Arkansas has a history of being a good football program and is one of those that will be very hard to ever be a contender. The fans yearn to return to being an “equal” of Texas but probably never will be (consistently).
  21. than any game except a national title game. The arrogance of these Aggies after skating by an overrated Notre Dame team and the bottom half of the SEC is maddening. Need to be put in their place.
  22. I will be shocked if Ant stays. Pleasantly surprised, but shocked
