  1. I firmly believe that if Notre Dame would have been included over Bama, the SEC (not only Texas) would have immediately began the move to cancel every future series with Notre Dame, and rightfully so. It would have painted an extremely clear picture that SEC schools are far more at risk for scheduling blue blood non cons than Notre Dame. Any SEC school that starts a season 0-2 is absolutely dead in the water. Might as well begin prep for next year. But I guess Touchdown Jesus allows Notre Dame to walk across that water SEC schools would be dead in.
  2. How about this, 4 team hybrid P4/G6 play in. #16 and #17 (P4 or G6) as the 1 and 2 seeds, Top 2 G6 champs as the 3 and 4 seeds. I like this idea rather than going to a full 24 team playoff for everyone. The whole damn AP Top25 does not deserve to be in the CFP.
  3. Best will always be subjective. I do think they need a smaller element of objective certainty. I’m fine with the top 15 having the chance and one G5 that has actually earned it getting a chance
  4. Alright, pick the best 2 and let them do a play in. Bottom line, I think it’s important for the G5 to be included, but I think they need to do more than what they do to earn it and I think there should only be one rep
  5. I disagree. The added games would increase their SOS to respectable/on par level with P4. Plus, they are probably going to lose against the first P4 team they play in the CFP. At least the guys on those teams could potentially have two more fun games together rather than dogwalked by the P4 team. It would be more rewarding for those teams to be proven to be the best G5 and have a championship to show for it. It would be a mix of the FCS and FBS championship models for the G6. FCS plays 5 playoff rounds + conference championships.
  6. This year, the first team out would be 9-3 USC. I don’t think the total G5 champ needs play them in this scenario. The total G5 champ in this scenario could be 15-0, 14-1 or 13-2. I think a team like that would deserve to be in without playing an additional game vs #16 USC at 9-3. I agree with the notion that the G5 should be included in the playoff. But the rigor that they have to show should be upped. I think a 4 team play in would be interesting and would make that champion deserving of being in
  7. - Any participating team must be 9-3 or better - One autobid for each P4 conference. Let each conference decide how they want the autobid to be earned- if the conference wants it to be winner of CCG, highest CFP ranked team, etc - If a G5/G6 team is in the Top 15 (unlikely), they are in. If not, the only route is a G5/G6 play in. - One spot reserved for G6. Four G6 champion team, two round G6 play in. Winner of the play in gets the G6 spot - G6 teams could all start playing in Week zero so that their championship weekend is a week earlier (earlier CFB? Yes please!) and the first round of the G6 play in is concurrent with P4 championship weekend, with the G6 interleague championship in between P4 CCG weekend and the first weekend of the CFP.
  8. You have guys that are fighting until the very end of the season and hoping they can reach the national title, and probably devastated when they don’t make it (especially seniors) And then you find out you’ve been invited to: - The Pop Tart Bowl - The Cheez it Citrus Bowl - The Snoop Dog Bowl -The ReliaQuest Bowl It’s pretty embarrassing. And you have people all over social media making fun of you for it. You’re very unlikely to get credit for a win in the game. It is a far cry from the Rose Bowl, etc. Things that mattered. I’m happy Notre Dame looks like crap from opting out, but I think all of these teams deserve a little empathy for having to hold their heads up and face the noise in these self deprecating bowls
  9. Dude I am actually left leaning at this point and dislike Trump quite a bit. Kamala was objectively a pretty avid purveyor of word salad, so on the topic of word salad I felt the reference was apt. I don’t bring it up, and when I see it I give it a quick react at max and move along with my day. A good way to make it a bigger part of the discussion board is to make it a bigger deal than it was rather than just rolling your eyes and moving on.
  10. I actually like that Bama and OU play. I can live with either outcome: Bama win- first round exit for OU, undoes their biggest season accomplishment, possibly makes it look like a fluke depending on how bad OU win- makes it look even more like Texas was the better team than Bama Same for TAMU Miami: Miami win- first round exit for TAMU, 0-2 to end season, crying Aggies leaving Kyle Field Aggie win- makes it look like Texas was the better team than Miami I’m also happy that Oregon and Tech play- Daddy Warbucks #1 vs Daddy Warbucks #2. They deserve each other. Hopefully Nike U can send Raider Rash out crying. MOST IMPORTANTLY- I’m happy each of them have 2 opportunities to lose before playing one another (1 for Tech because of the bye). Would hate to see any of them play one another, because it would be like rooting for which testicle to have kicked.
  11. That’s worth paying non-premium NIL for. Not getting into a bidding war for
  12. I saw Maraad Watson get pushed like a blocking sled by double teams multiple times this season. Literally sliding on the ground backward. 4 solo tackles. If LSU wants him badly enough to outbid what should be a second tier NIL package (non elite player) from Texas, they can have him. I think we should be able to find an adequate replacement. LSU seems like they will have multiple freshman DTs that should be able to produce more, so I doubt they’d go gung-ho for Watson
  13. BYU had a second chance against a team that they already looked like crap against, and then looked like even worse crap lol. Bama looked like crap against a team they had beat the first time. So there is technically a difference there. And BYU’s chances of the CFP weren’t hurt or helped by their Tech loss. They weren’t in the field before and aren’t in the field after.
  14. Says “BYU losing created the head to head comparison between Notre Dame and Miami” No it didn’t, dumb dumb! 🤦‍♂️😂 That head to head comparison has been right there since the first CFP rankings in November. What a dumb, moronic committee. What really happened here is the ACC would be apoplectic to have their champion left out AND have Miami out over ND, who has the head to head loss. And the SEC would be apoplectic to have Bama out over the result of a CCG result. Translation: Bye Bye, Potato Boys! I think Notre Dame would have been it if Virginia won. What a mess. I love it! 😂
  15. They need to have all SEC schools cancel. ND has 3 games vs SEC in 2028 alone. Join a conference domers
  16. Love, love, love it Irish tears taste like perfectly salted potatoes The part about them being in the CFP if they’re in the top 12 is utter bullshit though. Means if they were 12 they’d be in over 11 and 10 in a scenario like this year.
  17. This whole acting like there is Supreme Court level precedent for these committee decisions is dumb. We’ve literally had one year of precedent in the 12 team system. No team that was in the field got penalized last year from the CCG outcomes, yes. Then again, no team that was in the field lost their CCG by more than 8 points. ISU was on the cusp of the CFP, got smacked and dropped two spots in the final poll. So there is precedent for teams moving down after getting smacked in a CCG.
  18. I would love to see it. Spark the Holy War. Scorched earth vs Notre Dame. Greg Sankey is the Lisan al Gaib!
  19. BYU wasn’t in before today and they certainly won’t be now
  20. This isn’t just a loss.
  21. They will play Michigan! Please God let it be! Would also like to see the SEC execute a holy war on Notre Dame
  22. I would like to see a formal statement by Texas demanding correction and bringing it to the attention of the committee.
  23. He was explicitly talking about CFP rankings. CFP rankings don’t exist until November. Florida was ranked in the AP poll at one point too. The committee meets for the first time in October to talk about the first 8 games and DOESN’T rank teams until November.
  24. My point exactly. Texas needs to issue a formal statement and demand a correction.
