Supporters Popular Post Hank South Posted 16 hours ago Supporters Popular Post Posted 16 hours ago Good morning OTF! I’m excited to get started as the new managing editor of OnTexasFootball! I’ve been with 247Sports for the past 11 years, the last three of which I covered Texas for Horns247. I’ve been able to see the rise of OTF and the grip it’s establishing on what’s an incredibly competitive Texas media market. I knew y’all were on to something when I saw people at the airport or on campus pulling their cars over to give Gerry or CJ a shoutout or ask for a photo, lol. But in all seriousness, the trajectory this platform is taking is one that I couldn’t pass up when Bobby approached me with the opportunity. I’m glad I can finally team up with him, as well as Gerry, Rod, CJ, Jeff, Blake and the many others on the site that I have great respect for and have gotten to know on the beat. As Bobby noted, I’m a 2013 UT grad. Got to Texas in the fall of 2010, just in time for the start of a sad era of Texas football. Still made the most of it as a student. My favorite game memory was probably 2012 West Virginia, despite the loss. I wrote for the Daily Texan for a couple years, as well as worked at County Line on the Hill BBQ. Married my high school (Go Chaps) sweetheart Kelley in 2014. We live in South Austin with our three kids: Caroline (9), Maxwell (5), Sullivan (3 mo) … running on fumes with the latter. Got the offer to work at 247Sports pretty quickly out of college, and spent the first eight years covering recruiting for Alabama. I got the chance to cover the Longhorns in 2023 and jumped on it as quickly as I could. Have enjoyed some career highlights in my time on the Texas beat. Taking my Australian buddy to Tuscaloosa in 2023 to see the Longhorns upset the Crimson Tide, a Big 12 conference title on the way out, renewing the Texas A&M rivalry, a home playoff win over Clemson, etc. etc. I think we’re just getting started, too. I can’t wait to join y’all for the ride and continue to build upon the high standard of output already in place here. I’m in Denton this morning with CJ to cover Under Armour Dallas, so if I’m a little slow to get back to any comments, messages, or replies, that’s why. Otherwise let’s go! Hook ‘em! 82 2 Quote

He's slightly sensitive about it.... Hook 'Em! And Welcome. Glad to have you! My daughter was a Freshman at UT when you graduated. I graduated from Texas way back in 1976 and 1978 and got to see the end of the Darrell Royal era of coaching and the Earl Campbell era of greatness. 1 Quote
