harveycmd Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I'm sure most Longhorn fans really appreciate Tinney. He's a All-American who loved playing for Texas. We wouldn't have been in the CWS without him. I'll be rooting for him throughout his MLB career. 4 1 Quote
texcoyote15 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Disappointing ending to the season, but I really like what Schloss is doing and the trajectory of the program. I thought I remember Schloss saying he might be a year away on the roster construction, so to get to the World Series was good. I guarantee today him and the staff are digging in today on the portal to see what upgrades they can find. We’re going to get back to what we know Texas baseball should be. Proud of our kids fighting. They gave all they had……it just wasn’t enough to get over the hump. Good times ahead for Texas baseball. 5 Quote
QuanCosbysBurner Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Fun season overall. Had some frustrating moments along the way. Really wish we didn’t crap the bed hitting last night it was unfortunate because Harrison and Cozart absolutely dealt. @Jeff Howe just curious your opinion on Tulo? Do you like him to stay on the staff or would you potentially make a switch at hitting coach? Quote

They basically had the same approach as GM 1 vs Georgia and Wes Johnson took Schloss/Tulo to the woodshed again. Quote

They pretty much got the most they could out of what they had. In the end, it wasn’t enough. 4 1 Quote
TexasMDcoach Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Our pitching staff did their jobs and more in this post season. 1 Quote

They were plan C and D options after late draft departures, Josh Livingston not panning out and Jonah Williams getting hurt. Then add in Mendoza’s injury and ARod playing with one hand again for an entire season. The fact it was a top 4-5 offense in the SEC in most stats is pretty respectable considering the circumstances. 2 Quote
Thanos72 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I remember the days when people could be disappointed and supportive of their teams. Some of yall must be miserable in life. Only one team gets to be happy. That’s the entire appeal of sports. It was great getting back to Omaha. 🤘🏽 4 1 Quote
Jonas Peterson Posted June 17 Posted June 17 8 hours ago, Longhorn22 said: Our 5-9 was terrible. I really hope we hit the portal hard and field a lineup next year that can battle 1-9. Hard to be consistent offensively when you are dependent on 3 guys to perform every game (4 when ARod got more comfortable at the end of the year). Hurts to think if we kept those two portal guys from getting drafted how different our lineup would have been. Do you think that will be an emphasis this offseason? Our 3-5 carried us through the WS, but I've disappointed with our backend for most of the year. Quote

Lock n Horns Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Crying because we felt like this team underperformed while making it to the last 6 teams standing shows how far Schloss has brought the program in a short time and how high the Texas fan base expectations are. Tough crowd! 2 Quote

With Volantis, Cozart, And several good looking freshman the pitching next year should be very good and Pack and A Rod give us a good hitting nucleus, Just to to win some portal battles and sign another strong high school class and a return to Omaha is certainly possible We just can’t beat Georgia in men’s sports lol 1 Quote
dentonhorn Posted June 17 Posted June 17 For me, I thought this team probably topped out on my most optimistic projections. I didn’t think we would get to Omaha but it was the upper end goal, just to get there to add to our appearances record. If we won one game it would be an amazing season. I am really confused by those that don’t see this. Future is bright. 1 Quote

J-Steel Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Tinney played about as poorly as he could've in the CWS. Still doesn't mean he shouldn't have been there. We wouldn't be there without him. Frustrating that the offense was so inconsistent all season long... the pitching did it its part. Now, hit the portal and shut everyone up in 2027 and make the 40th CWS appearance one to remember! 🤘 1 Quote
Austalgia Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) Was a great season. Congrats to Schloss and the team! Cant wait for next year. If the front of the order stayed what they were in the season it might have been championship. Harrison with a gutsy effort in that last game. He should hold his head up leaving UT. dentonhorn Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Now that we are out. I am, I guess, rooting for UNC. Tonight’s game, drawing some satisfaction in that one of those will lose. Quote
