I remember last year, and how everyone at this juncture of the season were saying the same things as they are this year. I will take a 4-0 start and think Arch will have a great second half of the season. For now, I am thankful Coach Muschamp and the defense are playing lights out.

You can be critical of him all you want. Some of it is warranted but I’ve said this a few times that Sark doesn’t seem to do him any favors when the offense has no run game. Where’s the Sark Screen?! I haven’t seen it once. 
 

Arch is a good football player, he will continue to grow. Not a single player in CFB history has had more pressure on them.

Do you really think that is going to get better? He's been with this head coach, QB Coach, and OL coach for 3 years now, and he's not improved much, nor has the offense line. They still don't know what a stunt or blitz are.

As long as Sark decides to stick to this offense there is nothing to do.

If I didn’t know better, based on this post I would think we were 2-2 and not 4-0 and ranked #1 in the nation with a qb who wS 14-19 for 201.  A win is a win especially on the road in the SEC.  Was Arch perfect?  Of course not as he failed to climb the pocket and held the ball to long at times but again I will take a road win every time

Thank the defense. Outside of two drives the offense was hot garbage.

few thoughts, Arch/Sark need to incorporate more double counts to reveal blitzes. Offense line needs to be able to see and communicate before the snap. Other thing is he needs to start checking blockers when an obvious blitz is coming. its one thing to get beat, it’s another to let the defense have numbers and free runners to the QB.

He was pressured on 14 of 30 dropbacks.  But he threw in less than 3 seconds.  Only 9 QBs average less time to get rid of it when pressured.  Two were from Buffalo.  That does say something.

At this rate, Arch will not be entering the draft. What does Sark do at that point? If Arch comes back, Lacey is gone.

look, I know some will disagree, but let’s unpack this… Arch has zero grasp on the more advanced aspects of running this offense. 
He Will NOT check us out of bad plays…

He WILL NOT pull it when the defensive end crashes down…

He DOES NOT see the field. 
 

Now, I have to assume that our offense is sputtering because of Sarks unwillingness to see that Arch cannot effectively run his offense. What are the options? Who knows… but I’ll tell you this, Arch Manning is not a good fit for this offense, and Sark is not prepared in games when the defense takes away Arch’s first read. No adjustment… nothing. 
 

This is on Sark, and he coaches tight and the players play tight.

I don't think Sark's scheme is that great tbh. He can script some plays really well but outside of that it's been really bad. He's very rigid in his approach and he doesn't like to stray outside of what he does. It's a round hole round square type situation. 

It's why Flood's OL doesn't really peform well, it's a lot to do with the scheme. Remember when we were told that PK needed to go because Sark was babysitting the D and now Sark could focus on the O because he had a HC of the D? Well it was all a lie and the O is still the same.

As for the OL in this game, Sark never really adjusted to them bringing delayed blitzes. There is no check or anything because Sark doesn't expect it or anticipate it. Thus his QB's don't either. Even though he's played this guy several times and knows this is what he does + what worked last week vs UTSA.

I don't think criticism of Arch is that fair, because there were similar issues with Ewers, too. Even to a lesser extent Card when he played. Thompson seemed to take to Sark's O really well,  they put up a ton of points back in 2021 in several games. Maybe Sark isn't a great play caller or offensive mind as he thinks he is. I haven't really seen the O resemble that 2020 Bama O and personally I don't expect it to. That was an insanely loaded team from top to bottom.

Anyway, it all starts with Sark. He's not only the HC but the OC/play caller. If this is him focusing on the O, it is severely underwhelming. If your players aren't executing, why? What is the disconnect? 

The fact is Sark is never going to hire an OC. You imagine what a Buster Faulkner could do with the talent we've got? Look at what he's doing at Florida. Sark could have his pick and yet he won't. He's said this numerous times that this is why he was brought to Texas and he's not going to stop. 

Now I don't want him fired because he's done good at Texas but he needs to figure something out or have a serious gut check. Because the D might be elite, but you can't win games with just elite D. They are going to get worn down against some of these offenses in SEC play. Also penalties aren't going to get instantly fixed. It's part of Sark's identity.

It was the same last year, and they started figuring it out. The thing for me is that they kinda figured it out last year and it's not that Arch or Sark regressed, but forgot what worked? It's very discombobulating, and hopefully they can figure it out after the bye. Rather be undefeated than with two losses entering the RRS.

I am becoming more convinced he needs to come back for that fifth year. He isn't close to being ready for the NFL. I am sure he knows it too.
