“I have had multiple discussions seeking clarity surrounding the targeting call on Arizona State's final drive of the 4th quarter with Richard Clark. Moving forward, we need to address CFP officiating to ensure national standards are developed. These standards will be crucial to the CFP's future, and I look forward to discussing them with my fellow committee members when we meet next.”

Call me biased, but I literally can’t wrap my mind around the outcry for targeting on that play. It was BANG BANG, and Taaffe made a perfect stop. Head up, brought hands, and even attempted to wrap up but obviously couldn’t as he shot the receiver into orbit lol. The way he brought that boom should be taught in a textbook somewhere. The hockey-esque stop and shoulder check by their rb earlier when Taaffe was in coverage was a blatant no call that ASU got away with. If you really want to nickel and dime the targeting rule, and the key point of “leads with the crown of the helmet” then Skattebo should get called for it 90% of the time he runs the rock. Dude gets so low that’s it’s nearly impossible to to get the crown of his helmet rammed into yours. Jelani McDonald did an AMAZING job in the first half where Skattebo damn near went chest to turf, and somehow McDonald got just as low and they both went crown to crown and he stopped Cam.

No one talks about the Isiah Bond targeting no call.

No kidding. It was a massive play. Texas would have had the ball at least where ASU would have had. Texas could have ended it right there and that hit means zilch.

That guy did launch and hit high. There was no play on the ball. He didn’t use his arms. Bond was the absolute definition of a defenseless player.

Taaffe was wrapping up to tackle. This guy wasn’t.

Bond no call was ridiculous! The guy made no effort to get to the football and launched himself upward towards Bond's head. That call, more than any other, had me believe that we were about to lose. The gang fought tooth and nail and earned a huge win, no thanks to the officials. The Skatteboo push off with Taffe was obvious, but it was also obvious that there was a narrative and story being sold to add some flair to the CFP. It's almost as if they felt sorry for Lil ol' ASU for having to go up against the corporate conglomerate in Texas. I guarantee you this next week will be a smorgasbord of Texas doesn't belong, they got a gift, and OSU will wipe the floor with us.  Screw Yormark, can't wait to hear Bobby roast his ignorant ass. We won the Big 12 title 2 years in a row, cry about it. Keep doubting us. Keep hating on us. I like it....bring it on... give the guys something to focus on and be angry about. Let's show em how big we do it in Texas!! 🤘🏿
