CoachBobbyFinstock Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Didn’t watch but didn’t expect Arch to be that uncomfortable that long. His lack of accuracy and touch on easy throws like mesh was surprising. He missed on some reads as well not understanding down and distance. He did play better as the game wore on. He’s human and felt the pressure. His learning curve will be steeper than we all assumed or thought. It blindsided me for sure. I expected more from being in his 3rd year and 3rd start. 2 Quote
Tommy Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago One of the biggest concerns I took from this is Brooks saying Sark's become predictable. Says similar in his last vid too that Georgia, Vandy, OSU have prepped Sark's system and have been able to take away Texas WR routes. But I also see why Sark wouldn't get more creative or complex if his QB wasn't able to make the easy throws to begin with. 5 Quote

horns96 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Brooks is a huge Georgia homer, don't expect him to be objective when it comes to Texas. DeAndre Moore was running wide open with no one with 10 yards on the first play of the game and Arch drove the ball into the ground. That's not Sark's fault. 1 Quote

That’s a conclusion i came to myself that it’s a bit worrisome it seems going into year two of being know more as a good defensive program with a head coach who’s supposed to be a “offensive guru” and a “QB whisperer” Quote
diegozanna20 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago And even he wonders if Arch is injured. Maybe we'll never know but a complete implosion from a mechanics and footwork perspective is crazy 1 Quote

At this point an injury of some sort would make more sense to me than complete implosion because of being rattled... Like many of us I'd say that I'd be completely fine with yesterday's performance if in a couple of months it just looks like a bump in the road. Can't get it out of my head and probably won't until Florida, but even this week I wanna see Arch get back to his old self, footwork and all. If this was just a "moment too big for him" kinda thing then whatever, learn from it, grow from it and move past it but can't sit here and say it wasn't concerning. Next few weeks the name of the game is making the automatics, processing defenses (as bad as they may be), and honing in the footwork and mechanics we know he has 2 Quote
Hookem72 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago This game reminds me of the OSU Michigan game last year where Day tried to impose his will on Michigan and beat them at their own game. They lost that game but found themselves after and went on to win the natty. I hope whatever was off with Arch gets fixed and maybe Sark goes back to the drawing board and we find something that works. 2 Quote
selfdm Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This was great and educational. One other take away is OSU is good. Quote
harveycmd Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago He's injured. He forgot all about footwork and mechanics. He imploded. After fifteen years of QB training he forgot how to throw. You guys will buy anything if it's on the internet. Quote
harveycmd Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I'd bet 100k that Arch is in the film room this very minute looking at what he did wrong. 1 Quote

That’s true on a Georgia homer but he likes Sark. He also is very objective. 1 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago It was nerves at the beginning. Now he has a game under his belt in the most hostile environment imaginable. So he will take this experience and improve. Simple as that. Quote
whereiend Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) OSU had a good scheme for us and the lack of film did prove to be advantage for them. (We couldn't game plan for them the way they did for us). That's a difficult first game as a full time starter and he melted down. It is what it is, but IMO things look fixable. We'll see how good Arch's mental really is. If he can clean up his game there is a terrific team around him. Edited 1 hour ago by whereiend Quote

They basically ran what sark has always struggled against but disguised it better with their pre and post snap looks. 1 Quote
Hookem72 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago What he said about Arch not having touch and just rip is probably going to live in my subconscious all year now. I hope the next three games Arch is not allowed to throw a pass longer than 15 yards unless he completes 10 of 5 yards or less. Quote
Sanka Decaf Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago Thanks for posting. It makes you wonder, in hindsight, was this just nerves or is it why Sark wasn't comfortable putting Arch in last year despite Ewer's mobility? Is it why they took a veteran QB in the portal that seemed like a head-scratcher to some when it initially happened? Is it partially why the gameplan going into the OSU game was less complex than we expected? I'm not saying the answer to all of these questions is "yes", but it's just interesting how additional facts make things start to look different. Quote
