OsasTheDestroyer Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I want to be able to see updates in portal threads without having to scroll through hundreds of pages of memes and user messages. No Offense to the OTF community, I just don’t have that kind of time. My proposed solution is not to lock the threads to moderators but rather a feature that lets you disable user comments locally on my device. It would make for a much more convenient experience. For those who agree please help me get this point across to OTF staff. I really love OTF 8 2 1 Quote

Bobby Burton Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago If I understand correctly, you want to be able to comment on the thread but not see the comments of others and only see the comments of the moderators? 4 Quote

The memes in particular are a waste of member's time and OTF bandwidth. Especially when the image or video clips are repeated incessantly. I do appreciate OTF members dialogue, but it is getting buried is repeated irrelevant images. 5 Quote

I think what he’s referring to sounds like a “staff” or “mod” only tab on each thread where, if clicked, it will filter all replies to only show those made by mods. So all of the normal comments are still there but there’s a toggle to only show mod comments too. 247 has this, and it’s one of the last redeeming qualities about 247. However, it took them many years to add it. I’m sure you all are well aware of this feature and its challenges to implement, but if you want more info feel free to send me a DM. Probably not a portal szn project. 5 Quote

Sundancekid Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago We had one going but the walls crumbled and Joe Zura, among others, became moderators temporarily. I think the mods only thread is a good move. 3 Quote

Biggest stones in the history of the world. Not surprising from an Eagles fan. Henry Kissinger, as Nixon's National Security Advisor, authorized a DEFCON 3 nuclear alert in October 1973 during the Yom Kippur War to counter potential Soviet intervention in the Middle East and pressure Israel to accept a ceasefire, a controversial move criticized as potentially reckless but intended to show resolve and gain diplomatic leverage amidst superpower tensions, marking the first and only time the U.S. reached this readiness level. Yes, but there is history behind this seemingly reckless move. Israel attacked the USS Liberty off the Sinai peninsula in 1967 with jets and multiple torpedo boats trying to sink it. The USS Liberty was not a war ship but a scientific ship being used to surveil Israeli-Egyptian engagements. After surviving hundreds of holes and a 37' diameter hole at sea level by a torpedo ship, the USS Liberty would not sink. Israel dispatched several attack helicopters to finish the job but the pilots refused to engage and pulled away stating it doesnt look like a war ship and citing a lack of response on the ship. The USS Liberty had no mounted cannons or guns, except a 50cal machinegun and there was no way to mistake the US flag until the flagpole was shot down; therefore it could not have been mistaken as an Egyptian warship in direct fire range. There were quite a few Americans kill and, if remember correctly, 130 some odd injured. This was deliberate attack but ordered by whom? If you are of the cynical type, there is a theory that this was a false flag ordered by the LBJ administration as a means to blame Russia and get them pulled into the fight. Had the USS Liberty sank, nobody would have known anything different than the official narrative, which likely would have been different. Quote

If you can't distinguish historical greatness from stupidity, you be dumb. That's him. He's one of those of those guys Miller said was too stupid to avoid crossing the street when warned. You’re entitled to your opinion, and there’s never going to be a consensus on members here who like/value/respect every single staff member. However, such talk toward Producer Matt is something I won’t tolerate. If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t have the channel that we do and the content we produce wouldn’t be produced. Again, you can feel however you choose, but I won’t stand for an important piece of the puzzle at OTF to be spoken of on our platform in the way you did. 13 Quote

Let's keep it fairly civil, one of the best things on this site- after the content you provide. 3 Quote

harveycmd Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Civility applies both ways, Jeff. Ignorance isn't exactly a point of pride for the University of Texas. I'm a master degree holder from UT. Matthew isn't. Quote

Holding a master’s degree from anywhere doesn’t allow a free pass to hurl insults at people. If your problem is with Matthew, take it up with him directly. 5 2 Quote
