Last year Week 1 was Ohio State and Arch was still raw. This year is different.

We’ve got a clearly better offensive line, a stronger running back room, and a deeper, more talented receiver group. We also get a softer Week 1 opponent to let things gel before Ohio State comes to DKR — a massive home-field advantage.

The linebacker concerns are being overblown. Yes, depth could be tested at times, but that’s just college football. How many teams actually have two full lines of reliable LBs? Panic would be justified if we hadn’t landed Biles and Cryer. We did. Plus two freakish rookies. Meanwhile Bo Mascoe and Phillips are playing so consistently well that they barely even get mentioned.

People need to relax and be patient. Sark cutting a player shows real strength in the locker room and confidence in the depth. Admit it — weak locker rooms will tolerate much worse situations—-NIL times you can’t turn off donors with detrimental conduct   SECURE THE BAGS! 

And one more thing: no QB scrambles in the scrimmage. That’s a defensive coordinator’s wet dream in real games. Nobody wants to have to account for Arch as a run threat.

Since 1960, we have 4 national championships.  The only teams that have more are Nebraska 5, Miami 5, USC 7, and Alabama 13.  A lot of other teams' fanbases probably feel they have been burned too many times as well.

I’m not saying we are a lock for the natty.  I’m just saying the panic this weekend between Ty and sarks comments on arch are wild.

Absolutely!  Also, this could be a few years ago where you had to be near perfect and could not afford to even lose one game.  This team has a real shot.  They don't have to be perfect, they just have to be good enough to win all but two of their games.   If we can't do that  then we don't deserve it anyway.

It’s crazy the panic.   The Ty scenario is crazy to me. 
 

the guy wasn’t a starter and younger guys are stepping up all preseason —-we are told.  
 

He’s removed and then we say the defense was HUMMING in the scrimmage.  

Listen, I feel bad for the guy but he’s an adult and made choices that aren’t acceptable.  
 

if arch plays just as good as he did in the second half and wingo is sure handed we are the MOST feared team in the nation, we might’ve been at the end of last year with less depth and Anthony hill sitting out

Telling idiots on here not to panic is like telling a child not to take a nap in the car on the home, It’s just not going to work. I just put the panicked bunch on ignore and keep it pushing. There’s a huge segment of them that look for ANYTHING to panic about.

You’re right because we have no excuses on offense not to be really really good. Texas is LOADED on this side of the ball. LOADED. I would love to have their weapons at my expense on a Friday night.

Ya, just finished the Always College Football podcast. Sounds like all defenses for all the top teams are ahead of their offenses in scrimmages and practice. No teams are perfect, and it’s a long way to go. Best and worst is yet to come. Good your loins, friends.

if we win 2 games this year we’ll be lucky, Arch is a bust, Muschamp is washed up, Sark can’t win the big one(s), and we’re only going to use Simmons in pass coverage.

You mean the playoffs? It depends on the competition for the spot. If you can't lose three in the toughest schedule in the country and have a chance, then Texas needs to lighten the schedule.

Just finally rewatched Ohio st last year and I feel a lot better than first time around. 
 

1). We weren’t great but we actually moved the ball better than I thought. 

2) went for it on the one yard line (instead of sneak I’d rather another arch draw, but ran that the two previous plays) and another TOD in the red area later. 

3) Even though not accurate arch maneuvered the pocket like a pro. He’ll definitely use his legs more if he has to

4) our receivers could not get open

5) Ohio st sat on the ball on offense and played bend don’t break.  Didn’t fell like we had many possessions. That 14 point lead felt like 28. 
 

I feel better because our offense is better than last year no doubt, Arch is better, will probably be a nightmare with his legs, and we had some runs that I think smothers or brown would’ve made them pay more. 
 

 I think day doubled down this offseason with his OC hire. And that seems to be the theme going around college football. Slower pace on offense. And playing bend don’t break allows the opposing offense to run the clock for you. As long as you stop them when it matters, and score on your end it’s a pretty good strategy. But it’s risky and Miami game proved why for them. No margin for error.

It doesn't help when our defensive backs give 10 yard cushions to the receivers. We played scared in the secondary last year. I don't see that happening this year.

You think that's bad? Wait until Muschamp's Defense gives up a big play or someone misses a tackle, etc.
