We’re a really young team. We make one good play and then one or two bad plays. We’re not able to overcome those mistakes like penalties or fumbled snaps. Last year after a penalty, we had fourth and 13 and Quinn was able to rescue us with a touchdown versus Arizona State. We’re just not there yet.

We pretty much have to play perfect football to get any momentum. That is impossible with such a young team. We’ve got one more game against the nonconference opponent to try to get things going before or by week before SEC play starts.

What we’re seeing now is far from what we’ll see by the end of the year. We just don’t have enough juice right now though.

It’s not broken because it’s never been put together.

The move of not going to the portal looks inexcusable right now. Texas needs help at WR and Oline.

Speaking of Oline we couldn’t impose our will on Texas El Paso. Embarrassing.

The Film Guy made a comment that a number of scouts do not believe Arch can make touch throws and cant make the short and intermediate throws consistently.  I didnt want to believe that but it looks like it is true.

He has no touch at all. I noticed that last year that everything seems like a laser beam no matter how close the receiver is. The lack of seeing him go up against competition before college is now called into question too.

Sark needs to be prepared to pull Arch. You have to earn your spot and he is presently the wealthiest link.

Lol the misspelling works though

The weirdest part is that Arch plays like he's scared of making mistakes, then he goes and throws the braindead picks in the red zone these last two games.

Maybe he needs to play with his Warby Parker glasses on so he can read a defense and make better decisions.

We got sunshine pumping for 4-5 months about and this is what we get?

FFS, this is bad. I get that teams look bad, but our offense has yet to look good.

I could not agree more

Saying “we’re a really young team” isn’t a strong excuse anymore,  especially with the transfer portal available. Gerry has emphasized time and again that teams now have the tools to bring in experienced players to fill gaps, add leadership, and accelerate development. “Youth” doesn’t have to equal inexperience when roster-building resources exist.

It’s not just about raw talent either — Texas has one of the most talented rosters in the country, and a third-year QB in Arch Manning. If the excuse is that youth prevents consistency, it doesn’t explain why other programs, often younger or similarly inexperienced, are able to overcome mistakes and generate momentum. In modern college football, relying on youth as a shield for mediocrity is weak reasoning. Real progress comes from coaching, scheme, and accountability — not hoping mistakes eventually self-correct.

We should be able to be vanilla and drop 50 on UTEP

Exactly. This offense is as close to broken as I’ve seen. If next week is like this week, we may have to fight for a bowl game.

Ok read it let’s talk basketball guy

Jeff is literally saying his concern is the offense being good enough to win the next game. He’s not talking about a national championship or SEC championship. What else do you want him to say?

That’s just untrue. I just spent time on the post game discussing it at length.

He "can" make the throws but he most certainly isn't doing it to this point in the season. I think this has less to do with Arch and more to do with Sark getting in his head. He doesn't trust anything he sees.

On the message board all fall camp everyone said how dialed in Arch was and how there should be 0 worries there. What has changed from then to now? He is missing simple out routes, gunning balls at crossers feet, and can barely check the ball down in front of the RB so he catches it in stride. From a layman’s perspective it is ALARMINGLY bad.

Next week when Arch starts 5-5 for 500 yards and 5 tds we will call sark genius!

Why should we even think that? What has made you even think that’s remotely possible?

also, who the hell cares if it’s against Sam Houston?
