In that scenario, they'd effectively only play two actual games this season, plus the Big 12 Championship Game, since they technically wouldn't have lost a single conference game. Quote
Little Carmine Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Just when you thought that the majority of the college football world would unite around the villain that Lane Kiffin turned LSU into.... Texas Tech has entered the chat Quote
watty7796 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Any credibility that college sports had left has gone out the window with this ruling. Legalized gambling on sports across all 50 states and everyone is taking a piece. NIL with no real guardrails. Everyone knew there would be a few schools that would push the envelope and still not one entity took any control. No conference commissioner, not the NCAA, and not any federal or state government. College sports has opened Pandoras box and they are reaping what they sowed. Quote
Lavalulu Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago With billions at stake for College Football Programs…IMHO the NCAA is clearly outmatched FINANCIALLY by financially backed college football programs. The NCAA cannot pay for high priced attorneys who have the time and financial resources to challenge NCAA rulings. Tell me—how can the NCAA even compete?? Quote

Oh it’s okay, he’s just a drug Addict and needs rehab. maybe Kirby says his players are adrenaline junkies and that’s why they speed? the mental health excuse and “irreparable harm” is just a scary slope 4 Quote

Again, this was clearly a Pyrrhic victory for Tech. It won’t really matter if Sorbsy is eligible if they forfeit all their games or if the Big 12 teams boycott those games. What the hell did they think was going to happen? Did Joey and Cody actually think the rest of the college sports universe was just going to roll over for their bullshit scheming? Karma. 4 Quote

Seems to be a microcosm of our society where most people have a victim’s mentality; no holding people accountable for consequences of their actions. If an addict wants to truly change they must remove themselves from the environment that caused the addiction. It’s as if an addiction counselor tells the alcoholic it’s okay to continue working as a bartender! Guess I’m a little surprised, but not shocked by the decision, which is unfortunate. Tech’s continued support of him through rehab, etc. is just a pretense to try and cover the stench emanating from the campus! 1 Quote

It’s like getting a TRO in a divorce. It doesn’t mean you did anything. It means don’t do anything (like check change the locks) until a temporary hearing takes place. The real question is WHEN this hearing takes place. The NCAAF has a great case for getting a hearing BEFORE the season starts. EDIT: I dug a little deeper. Barring an emerging stay, it’s likely he plays. An appeal on this junction takes a few months. Ugh. Yes, I was about to say. Agee just played the entire season of basketball for Aggy under a TRO this past season.... Quote
Roy Hinojosa Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago (edited) That judge was going to get voted out if this wasn't the outcome, but at what cost? There seems to be enough people and entities in lock-step about this horrible, absurd ruling. Edited 36 minutes ago by Roy Hinojosa Quote
lemonandaturd Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago When Sorsby throws a brain fart pick six in the 4th quarter of a conference game next season that results in a loss, those tortilla tossers will turn on him fast. Every one of his screwups will make it appear that the fix is in for one of his betting cronies. What a mess. Quote

Neil Leininger Posted 6 minutes ago Posted 6 minutes ago (edited) It's an easy fix. Rule any game he participates in as a forfeit. The Big 12 could step up right now and actually do something for the good of their conference and football. Of course, I really think it's hilarious that a mid QB is seen as the savior of Tech. He was 12-12 as a starter at Cincinatti. Edited 5 minutes ago by Neil Leininger Quote
akhookem Posted 5 minutes ago Posted 5 minutes ago Lol. Would tech stand by him if this was pre NIL and they didn’t have millions tied up in him?? Quote
